He saw a JVC 39" full HD model for £299. Picture quality was pretty good compared with a Samsung 4K set on the shelf below, and definitely better than the 40" JVC model next to it. He asked an assistant if he could have the remote to play with the settings on the 40" and was told its just a crap TV. He decided on the 39" and actually tried to sell him a 720p model, costing £229, only I noticed it said 720p on the box. Turned out they didn't have the one he wanted in stock. And the more cynical may say they were trying to pull a fast one.The moral of the story is, it matters almost as much where you by from, as what you buy. If you can get the same TV from a reputable dealer for the same price, buy it from there instead of from retailers like Currys.

I can believe this. I get pounced on every time I go into Curry's. I quite fancied looking at the TV's the other day. I was pounced on twice from when I entered, up to the point where I got to the TV's. I walked out in the end as the group of 3 employees looking over put me off.

John Lewis on the otherhand... 3 years ago I went for a look around. An employee asked if I need anything he would be right over there, and left me to it. I asked a question, they answered, and nothing else. I walked out with a £450 HDTV.

Well off retiree or just a bitter old man?

Get a life mate, kids use their TVs for Gaming for a damn sight longer than you will watching Eastenders on it. Kids are not spoilt brats, they are just as entitled to a decent TV as anyone else.

never understood he difference in all the numbers (beyond the obvious first couple being the size of the screen). the 703 (or was it 705 or was it 750!) was on sale on black friday for slightly less and went red hot... think folk will wait for the boxing day tesco goose chase before buying on christmas eve...

950/850=good
Minor differences between say 610 and 634 are things like the stand. The screen itself is equally poor. If you're going from a 5 year old mid to hi range Sony to this, you might be wondering what all the fuss is about with 4k/HDR.

Anyone used this with a ps4 Pro?
Amazon have a very similar one for £329 here
I do really like this but put off that it's apparently not 4k? RGBW?
This is a very bad TV if you're wanting HDR or using for gaming. The HDR is awful. I got one but quickly sold it off and purchased a Sony HDR TV. More expensive but the quality difference is huge.
Got mine from Richersounds with 6 years warranty

I mean I hate to say it but all HDR on TVs of this price range are mediocre since they don't have the backlight, to support it, or the wide colour gamut.

That said, my problem with the 35V(possibly same panel as this?) was that it seemed to have not so good image retention, which is pretty awful for gaming.
Same one is in john lewis for same price but you get a 5 year guarantee. And free delivery
Whats the best 43" tv for ps4 pro?

I agree its the worst thing ever.
So...... why arent people buying both and getting the cheap xbox 1x - then you return the telly next week for a refund........ and keep the console. Yes???

Strikes me as decent option ?

The only difference is the stand so it's personal preference there altho my TV stand isn't wide enough for the legs on the 634V so I already have the 630V as you've listed.
I paid £400 on Black Friday and it's brilliant. Fantastic for gaming which is all I use it for. I have both consoles and the HDR looks better on the Xbox One X than the PS4 Pro imo...

Excellent value, a true gamer wouldn't be disappointed at all

So true there all looking as soon as you enter waiting, its a joke. Not even time to look around properly. . Agreed there.

Yeah good deal, I like it, I like it a lot 🤪
i dont really think you should include the Xbox deal - it's a standalone deal which someone else posted prior to you adding to the post.

also applicable to other TVs.

just my opinion.
Anyone having issues ordering for delivery on the LG Tv?

Essentially the 630v - 651v are all the same panel, but with different stands or other minor changes.

The 670 and 701 are better panels than the above. These two are the same panel but the 701 comes with a magic remote and better in built speakers.

The 750 is then a better panel again, with all the bells and whistles of the budget models.

My advise is to put them into Google vs each other. The differences then can be subtly seen in a side by side spec comparison.

The above are all in the 'budget' class (which I researched and recently purchased the 670v). Any models above these I can't comment on, but are significantly more expensive.

The 750 is then

When you pay more, you tend to get better quality. It would be easy to say that your sony is terrible compared to an OLED but that's a meaningless comparison as the OLED is significantly more.

For those on a budget the hdr and tv is more than acceptable.

My elderly aunty went in with myself (I was about 16) and wanted to buy herself a laptop. We found a good priced one and the sales assistant tried selling her Microsoft office too. I told them that she didn’t need Microsoft Office as Open Office would suffice for her needs. The assistant called me a liar and told my aunty she would be at risk of being arrested as Open Office was illegal. I argued politely and succinctly and he got his manager to ask me to leave the store. My aunty believed him until we got home and I showed her uthat she had been lied to and manipulated into buying it. Never again would I give pc world a penny. Would rather pay more to buy second hand off of eBay than pay that disgraceful company anything
lol, Currys... Sad little dough-ball of a gimp who I spoke to the other day became noticeably annoyed because I didn't want to, after him asking 3 times, buy his £80 antivirus package for my purchase that already included a perfectly good AV, he said he'd get someone else to deal with my reservation but didn't bother, I watched him go back to prowling the shop floor, looking for frail pensioners to swindle. A mate of mine had one of them square up to him saying 'look mate, I've got a family to feed, you need to buy this software'.

I do feel sorry for the people they successfully prey on with these cons, such a scummy company.
I ordered two TVs to collect from Currys Sprucefield....couldn't get served by anyone lol....Ended up just lifting them of the floor and taking them to the cash desk....so much for click and collect.

Thats not always correct. I use to work in retail and I've seen many customers complained about staff not approaching customers so you can never really please everyone.
Imagine this deal compared with the deal of Samsung which so many people got yesterday. That was 55” for more or less the same price.

LOL this is why i don't walk into currys to look at TVs
Deal price should be £698.99 Heat added because of the kids
I just bought this TV for £279 from eBay the other day when there was a 20% discount side-wide. I've seen loads of people saying it's awful but it was one of the only budget TV's I could find that supported the 10 bit HDR format. It surely can't be that bad? I will be using this with my PS4 Pro, and bought it mainly because my current 4K screen doesn't support HDR and at 60Hz the colours are largely compressed and look awful!
jimjamjars27th Dec

Anyone used this with a ps4 Pro?

I've got the 49inch version and use a Xbox One S and PS4 PRO with it. Fantastic TV, great colours and no input lag.
If only LG used VA panels for their LED LCD range, not just IPS.

Their smart platform is probably the best out there & I like their magic remote.
