Is this one of those ones where for every bargain you also bag the chance of a black eye or broken leg?

Volumes are more important than the price with these, if they only have 1 of each then forget it

there will be at least 300 of the lg tv, not sure on volumes for the rest but i know they have them piled up ready

Good prices if it it is local and you can queue. Yes it is only localised and not suitable for everyone but that's not the op's fault is it.

Nice first post/deal op..I have located a pdf of all the discounted items for this store here

Who'd like to buy me the 42" and ship it to me? Reward!

Original Poster

Id recommend getting there early!

Given 300 stock of the LG TV, this can only be hot.....

Nice first post.... Welcome to HUKD

Shame am not more local

Anyone care to get me a TV?

This brought chaos to the surrounding area, motorway, everything when they did ours. Loads of trouble and police involvement. Any advertising is good advertising though I supppose.

richer sounds isnt too far away i wont bother going here fosse park is always busy

We're getting one of these near us soon - hopefully they'll do the same when it opens - is this a regular occurance?

@kblue08

How do you know about the 300 tv stock?

Hot if there are this many

know someone that works there! they have them piled up in the store too.

Only a saving of about £20 on instore pricing of laptops, which could be countered by QuidCo / savings in petrol.

I might go, take a deck chair and watch the peasants scrapping over the bargains.........especially when it gets down to the last few ................

Where is Fosse Park? Can't think which part of Leicester thats in.

j400uk, its near junction 21! and sweet, might just have to pop down and have a gander

literally a stones throw from J21 on the M1, good price for the tv!!

Went to the one in Liverpool..plenty of stock...pile 'em high - sell 'em cheap (well cheapish)

They had one of these in the new store at Aintree a month or so ago. Apparently people queuing from about 4am and there was no limit to the number of items you could buy. If you weren't in the first 50 you never got a telly as people were buying huge numbers (up to 20 in one instance), obviously to put straight on ebay.

I think it was pcworld that had a similar sale, near Wednesbury/M6 - they stockpiled traffic very nicely. As Fossepark is by the M1, this could be another repeat of that problem.

There's some info here, over 300 people waited for the store to open apparently - expressandstar.com/lat…rs/

If you're going, take something warm etc.

People queued in their cars? Pretty dumb of them to do that when they could have parked and queued up in person

Original Poster

looking at the flyer, its one per person.

Very nice deals, just debating the 2 hour drive down for the LG. =/

I wonder how they call THIS a special offer ?

I heard about this today but didn't have flyer to post! Nice post mate

Shouldn't be too busy at 5am - apart from currys that is Parking at RS is a nightmare, had to double yellow last time.

Question is, do I need a 42" 1080p TV? Nope. Can I afford it? Nope. See you 5am then

All I can say is after the opening of the Birmingham one GO VERY EARLY.
I went an hour before opening and the queues were insane. People everywhere.

Caps is cruise control for cool.

That comment makes no sense. Volume and price are most important, and generally price is more important than volume. It is no good if what you want is hugely overpriced no matter how many they have in stock.

Especially to people on a site called HOTUKDEALS

I got a leaflet with the local paper, just debating what time to go down, lucky fosse park is only 5min drive!
Any other fellow bargain hunters going early?

What he is saying is that if the RRP is £100 then its better to have 500 stock at £40 than 2 or 3 for a tenner

They did this in Croydon last year - it was chaos!

You really need to be there at 3am for a chance of one of the TVs. I was there at 5:30am and the queue was massive - so I went home. Went back at around 10am when it was a lot calmer, and they were just taking delivery of new TVs, not as cheap, but higher spec. and so still a great bargain. LG 42LH3000 for £379. The ones advertised and queued for were the 2000 model for £279 which was not full HD. This was in October 2009.

I got the TV I preferred for the price, and didn't have to queue up at silly o'clock to get it X)
