Upgrade on you contract renewal date! NOT BEFORE, FOR BETTER DEALS!

T-Mobile offered me a better deal (£100 off the N95) by renewing it on the renewal date and not going for the offered early upgrade.

Some people may say "Well of course they are gonna do that" but someone people may go for the early upgrade an not get a good deal

I was on o2 simplicity for £25 a month. 600 mins, 500 text with unlimited calls from friday midnight to monday midnight. Got 2 contracts. Before this I was on o2 max, but changed when 0870 numbers got charged for. I rang up last weekend to "leave". Operator said why bother leaving. You tell me what you want, il see if i can do it. Knowing about phones and tariffs, i ummed here and there and then came out with it. Said, I need more mins, more text and free web browsing. She said we can give you 1200 mins, 1000 text and unlimited bolt on web for £30 a month. Thought £5 more. Pretty good. She then said she will chuck in a N95 8GB!!! Also Nokia Maps 18 month subsricption. Had to say YES...

That sounds good. Im not sure whether to get the N95 because I have heard people have had a lot of problems with it (Screen cracking, freezing etc). Might get the N93 with copilot but it is out of stock :-(

My contract runs out on 14th June. I rang them up a few weeks ago but all they would offer is £10 off my line rental.

I'm gonna give them a call on Wednesday to see if they offer a better deal, if not I'll be cancelling and taking out a 3 contract instead!

Are they more likely to give you a better deal if you have more than one contract with them? I have two, but the other doesn't run out until January.

Zoe_B - you got to talk to disconnections department. Just ring up and say you want to leave. They would tranfer to disconnections...

Yeah, I know. I just thought I'd ring up to see what they'd give me if I upgraded. I wasn't able to say that I wanted to cancel because I had longer than a month left.

Yeah, I have read that a few people have had problems with them but on the other hand a lot of people haven't. They have some good offers on as well. I'd prefer not to leave but 1100 mins/texts for £20 a month is a very good deal! I doubt T-Mobile will give me a better deal than that!

My missus rang Orange up to cancel and in the discussions told them she was cancelling due to new customers getting better deals. Don't care for keeping a telephone number and as such want the free phone and £250 cashback matched. No problem the rep said, and sent out a new phone next day and put a £250 credit on the account.

I think the operators have realised we are peed off with getting **** renewel offers when new customers get so much.

Can any1 confirm this with the N95. Was looking at getting one on the flex20 £20 a month deal. I like the look of the n95 but if theres a lot of probs ill avoid it. I know the N96 is out in the states but i think its gonna be a while over here and not on £20 a month contracts to start with anyway :-(

3 are rubbish! They hack the OS on the phones so badly that they run so much slower than on other networks. The customer support is the worst I have come across - at the very least you would expect them to be able to speak a decent level of English! O2 all the way for me from now on!

I went back to Orange from Three (three contracts) and regret it everyday!
I will be going back to them when I can get out of the contract with Orange. Customer service is the same, the benefits are minimal if any, please let me know if there are any!
Quality of calls is the same, on Orange having to press one on the phone is a pain with a slide phone, high data costs and picture messages also not free or included. Three network is backed up by the same Orange one so call quality should remain the same. It was moving to Orange from O2's network when I left, Three's deals are now better by a long way.

we where going to cancel and car phone warehouse gave us 600mins 500 texts unlimited o2 to o2 £420 cash back not by redemption, 18 mth contract,no phones ......£35 per mth but with cash bk works out £11 per mth

A year ago i had a free N95 £21 a month for 500 mins unlimited texts with Orange. I was with O2 the year before and even they said go for it. Depends who you get through to i suppose.

The N95 is a good phone... im on my 4th one in a year! no really its a good phone but mine keep ******** out on me

T-Mobile can match that offer...well, kinda. I managed to bring them down the Flext 50 (1275 mins/texts) from £55 to £22.49 :-D I asked them to transfer me to the disconnections department and moaned that there other other providers offering much better packages. Go on, give it a go, you have nothing to loose!

Well, I spoke to them both yesterday & today and the most that they will offer is a £12.50 discount. :x

Looks like I'm off to 3 then!

Good luck to you, but I think you'll regret it, especially when it comes to the phones... 3 hack the firmware so badly, that it almost makes the phones unusable! I have an N73 on 3 and my mate has the same phone on Orange. The OS on his phone flies, whereas as mine runs like a dog... If you want a decent response time from your phone, then 3 is not the way to go...

Maybe you got the few people in the call centre that actually have a grasp of the English language then. I think they are ****. Case in point is when I was on a cashback deal (never again) and I needed a final bill from 3 to send to the phone company to get my final money paid (100 notes). I spoke to what must have been five people tryingt o get this sorted out. The first three times, the reps lied and said they would send it out, when in fact they didn't understand what I was asking and just agreed with me. Then the next two didn't understand why I would want such a thing and it took me so long to explain to them what I needed and why. In my opinion, 3 are THE WORST mobile operator and try to make up for their shoddy service and rubbish coverage with cheap price plans...

Isnt this just common sense, of course you are going to get a better deal than you would before your contract had expired.

I've just spoke to T-Mobile again & they're offering me the same deal that's on their website. Flext 35, 18 month contract, £30 a month, a free phone (N95, Soul or Viewty) & free weekend calls to any network.

Three would be cheaper but it might be less hassle to stick with T-Mobile. I'm confuzzled now!
