Upgrade to 100GB £30 1 Month Rolling with one-off £59.99 router purchase @ Three

Found 31st Jan
I have an existing plan with Three (40GB 1month rolling £30/month) and phoned up to get more data as vodafone had a better deal with more data.

To my surprise they offered me 100GB for the same price I was paying if I was to pay a one-off ~£60 for the router.

Router is Huawei B310 (black) which I see sells on eBay for ~ £40 to £60 so for anyone who can get this deal it could be essentially a free upgrade to 100GB data plan.

good deal and getting close to being usable as an alternative to landline broadband, still a way to go tho
it used to be rolling contract £27 a month for unlimited data we seem to be going backwards.

My understanding is that the 'unlimited data' contracts only include up to 30GB of tether data, making them less attractive for a home broadband setup.

This contract allows the full 100GB of data to be used for tethering or whatever you fancy
Tiptop price for the upgrade to 100gb @hugecannon

I think this might be Three, getting ready for the EE 100gb plan, which was meant to be launched in the last QTR of 2017.

The plan on the site only allows 30GB of personal hotspot usage, even on the 100GB deal. Is this seperate from the offer created for you and do they class all tethering as hotspot usage?

I originally had the 40GB mobile data plan (no tether limit) and have upgraded to 100GB by phoning them. I'm assuming that they haven't shifted me over to the 100GB mobile phone plan (as my plan doesn't come with any minutes/texts). So yes I think the one you're seeing is the 100GB mobile phone plan.

I'm not sure what they class as hotspot usage

I’ve just got this. Phoned 3 up and got router and 100gb for £28 per month (12 month contract). The maximum download speed I could get via landline was 2-3mbps, with this I get 28-30mbps so well pleased. I’m moving house in about 6 months so I can just take this with me.
Add in the fact that with this plan you get ‘go binge’ so unlimited data on Netflix, TV player and some music services.
Might not suit everyone but for me it was perfect.

Yea , great for me as well, 2M BroadBand but getting 80M down and 30 Up with this.
Netflix 4k streaming works well, managed about 60GB on Netflix last month which as said above doesn't come out of the 100GB.
They gave me an extra £2 off as I also have a three mobile contract, so worked out at £28/month

Are you streaming in 4K, my understanding is that you can only stream in standard definition?
Yea, streaming in 4K HDR, says 2160p on the TV.
It sometimes starts in 480p but gradually ramps up within a couple of minutes and then just stays there.

But the go binge is only SD. Streaming in 4K comes out of your data plan, or at least that's the way I read it.
No definitely not, I checked a few times after watching movies in HD and UHD my remaining data hadn't changed.

Maybe that applies to Mobile phone contracts but this is a home broadband product. (HomeFi)

Here is last months Bill, everything on Netflix was watched on HD or UHD.

I currently have unlimited data,30gb tethering, 600 mins, unlimited text on a sim contract for 12months for £15.
My contract ends in a couple of months and will keep it as rolling contract.

Spoke to them on Live Chat to get this deal used to pay more at the begining for less data

That's a mobile contract, this is for Home Broadband via 4G so no tethering limit.

How did you get unlimited data for 15. I'm not greedy I've asked about 20 times for 100 for 15 but they really tight nowadays as you said most people grandfather it so giving customers anywhere near your deal is getting a life deal they know this they probably won't repeat the letter fiasco of one plan so they careful now. Just seen those 16.10 mistake ee 64gb deals being pushed to 28. I'm on 64gb for 13 on a rolling with EE but can't get anyone to match it not even three. They did 100gb for 20 on black Friday would take that but my EE is so good frightened I can't get back on it if three increase it in a year. The five monthly uswitch deal that spawned my current EE deal has vanished. I'll have to cut my football usage as my sister getting cross when I gift data from her
Heat. You may have solved a rural broadband issue.

Should have got Unlimited everything on Virgin 4G for Black Friday, got it, love it, speeds are better than my EE Max plan!
