UPPAbaby Vista Pushchair/Stroller - £380.00 delivered @ Amazon US

The UPPAbaby Vista recently won Which's Best Pram 2011. Its very popular in the US (an American company), but only just starting over here. It's a direct competitor of the Bugaboo Chameleon and iCandy Peach, normally selling at £549-£599.

But if you buy it from the Amazon USA, you can get it delivered to the UK for £380 including delivery and import taxes. Considering this is £170 cheaper than the UK prices, and less than half the cost of the Bugaboo/iCandy, I reckon its a sound investment.

Extract from Which Report -
"The Uppababy Vista travel system's large storage basket gives it plenty of appeal, and is suitable for children up to 22kg, but not from birth, unless you use the Vista carry cot which is included. Our tests find out how the Uppababy Vista travel system handles and whether it will work well if you want to take it into town.
The Best Buy Uppababy Vista travel system consistently scored top marks in our tests and was a favourite with our testing panel thanks to its manoeuvrability and large storage space.
It's suitable for children up to 22kg, but not from birth, unless you use the Vista carry cot included. The compatible car seats (Maxi Cosy Cabriofix and Pebble) have to be bought separately."

Not sure why this is getting cold if that price is correct incl taxes etc - its a great product and a great price (even at £550 UK price it's very competitive given quality/features etc)

Just checked it out properly and if you chose one of the $445 amazon ones (certain colours only), then it does indeed come to £380 incl taxes etc - somehow delivery is only £7.75, which given the size/weight is pretty crazy!

This looks a good price but wonder how you would get on with customer service if you had a problem with it. Have you seen one of these in the flesh? I would be interested to know if the seat unit folds separately to the chassis?

I love the look of it!

But most people buy an iCandy or Bugaboo because of the brand. There are already cheaper alternatives to these available in the UK.

Not sure i'd want to spend £400 on a pushchair that can only be shipped from the US.

I have played around with one in a store near Croydon. You can fold the unit with/without the seat attached, which was one of the advantages over the other 2 since you needed to take the seat off to fold them down.

UPPAbaby UK have said that they would deal with any problems, so no need to go to the US site unless you were looking for a full replacement, in which case it would need to go back via Amazon US.

So if there are any problems with wheels etc, UK UPPAbaby will sort it out.

You're right its still a lot of money to spend on a pushchair. Only time will tell as to whether it is worth it. I've actually managed to get it for £300 as I have had it delivered to a hotel that my dad is staying in next week.

i love my icandy peach...if this is in the same league, then the price is FAB!!

Uppababy is becoming a direct competitor for Bugaboo and iCandy brand wise - lots of places stocking the Uppababy in the UK now if you want to try before you buy - A3 Baby barn for example if you're in Surrey/London, Paul Stride in York i think have them

We tried both of them in the store at the weekend. The iCandy definitely won in the looks department, but the UPPAbaby was lighter and generally easier to use. They both had the feature to add a second seat if you need to make it a twin.

Can someone point me to where it says a) they will ship to the UK, b) that the price will include taxes, c) the conversion to pounds (or did you do that yourself?) and d) where it says Uppababy will honour warranty on them from the UK?

Cheers

Just add it to your basket and and go through to the last screen of the checkout. You will see that it offers for you to pay in £ or $, and it states including delivery and import tax.

Using their conversion, today it comes to £380. You could probably save £5-£10 by putting it on a VISA card that doesn't have extortionate fees and paying in $.

You will need to phone UPPAbaby UK for piece of mind regarding the warranty - I don't think it is written down anywhere.

I spent £400 on a phil and teds pushchair and £120 on the Maclaren stroller. But its the stroller that I've really got my money's worth out of. Dont fall for the 'kerb appeal', if I could re-wind time I wouldn't buy a pricey pushchair

To be fair this looks the same as britax b range (b-smart, b-dual etc) I paid £550 for the b dual a year and a half ago and wished i had never bothered! it was heavy and bulky to put in and out of the car, you are just paying to have a 'branded' pushchair, we have an o'baby pushchair for my little boy now and its super, its umbrella fold so takes up barely any room in the car and if the boot is full i can just put it behind the drivers seat on the floor. At the end of the day marketing companies prey on the fact that a pushchair is a status symbol, learned my lesson and would much rather spend the money on stuff my kids actually need x

Seems that these umbrella fold strollers are worth their money - although I assume you can't use them from birth? The other feature that I was hoping would be useful with these more expensive travel systems is being able to clip the car seat in and out as well as the pram and chair parts.

Only time will tell as to whether I regret it or not although I'm still happy that I got a bargain regardless of whether or not its actually worth it :-)

The o baby one can be used from birth as it reclines right back, We also have the matching footmuff too so he is lovely and cosy! I have never used the clip seats and to be fair I think thats the only thing that would be worth the money, but its alot of £££ for sheer convenience imo

it looks identical to the mothercare my4!

jayley21 - which Obaby have you got? I've been looking at the Baby Jogger Mini City and that has the car-seat adaptors too (although not included in the price)

Its the stroller, vintage (union jack)

mcampster, thanks for the help above. I never realised you could do this.

Did you order this then? I read the bit about the "Import Fees Deposit" and that they refund you if the import fees come to less than the deposit, but I would be concerned about what happens if the import fees come to more than the deposit... wouldn't want to be hit with a big bill at the end...?

Cancel that, just found the answer and its all good:

What if the actual Import Fees are less than the Import Fees Deposit I was charged?

If the actual Import Fees (paid by carrier on behalf of the recipient to the customs and tax authorities of the destination country) are less than the Import Fees Deposit collected by us on your behalf, you will automatically be refunded the difference to the payment method you used for the order. You will receive a notification e-mail to confirm the amount of the refund. The process takes 60 days from the shipment date.

What if the actual Import Fees are more than the Import Fees Deposit I was charged?

For items sold by Amazon Export Sales, Inc., you will not be charged any additional fees if the actual Import Fees exceed the Import Fees Deposit we estimated. For items sold by Amazon Marketplace sellers, please check the seller's policies.

Does anyone know I'd his is the 2011 model? Thanks

Mine arrived a while ago - yes, I believe it is the 2011 model. I got the cole one, which only came out in 2011

Tried purchasing the Uppababy Vista from the US Amazon site and it says that it cannot be sent to an international address so it seems that they have withdrawn this for some reason! Shame, it looked like such a good deal. If anyone knows a way around this, please do let me know

Im looking to get this Pushchair and it looks like amazon have stopped the US to UK order. Are there any other websites that i can order from that will deliver to the UK at a decent price?

Not that I know of. We've been using it for 6 months now and I can definitely say it was worth the money. With the exception of being a little wide, its the most practical of all the buggies we've come across.

Wow - I hope this deal comes back!
