Though UPS are a good company, be warned, that they are very overloaded at the moment. I have been waiting for a parcel for 3 days now, every time they delay because of "emergency situation".

BE WARNED: UPS is supposed to be a good courier (they charge similar to the best), recently they have been unbelievably terrible:

1. Missing packages.

2. Claiming that attempted deliveries failed without even attempting delivery. Rather than attempted delivery the next working day, they drop it off at a random collection point. If you call them and ask for it to be redelivered they will quote 5 working days, and it won't ever arrive.

3. Customer service on the phone is a nightmare, you will be on hold for 30 mins and eventually speak to somebody in the Philippines. That's if the call doesn't mute while your on hold and you never get through! Try it and you will see what I mean.

4. Shocking website full of bugs, if the error affects you, customer services can't help over the phone (even if you have your tracking number) and tell you to email their IT department!

5. If you pay for a collection online the delivery driver will still demand cash payment upon collection due to a bug on their website. Even if you show him proof that you paid he will refuse to collection without payment. It can't get worse.

Much worse than even Yodel or Hermes. Use DHL or DPD or anybody else.

Heres some advice, invest in a printer.

Strange, I’ve sent 4 in the last 2 weeks and they have all been next day. I guess it’s very area dependant.

No better and way faster than other couriers

Had a parcel to drop off at UPS location and the first 3 I took it too said they werent taking parcels at the moment. right pain as only found out by going there.
I received bad service last week. Should have arrived thursday arrived monday. Tracking was garbage and no indication of time only by end of day upto 9pm. Would you want your 82 year old mother opening her door at 9pm. What a joke
They collect for £2.40, great value if you’ve got a couple. I probably rate them the highest out of the couriers I use.
Good company along with Hermes. Have delivered all my times with 0 issues. Great app too

I used to use yodeldirect before they became bust and now use UPS for almost all items but even more so how little they charge to insure a £1k phone or tablet vs other collection couriers. So far during during covid they have collected and delivered my packages without fail.

Imo UPS might end up being at the top spot in the UK along with DPD by end of year.

I think you've maybe got lucky with hermes or sending smaller items maybe?

I use hermes for all small non expensive items. Any large items or expensive items I cant trust them woth any longer. Its more so the large items, they very rarely get through the hermes system unscathed. To be fair though after making a fuss and refusing their initial no's they pay out in the end.

For me, i ordered a parcel over a month ago and it only arrived yesterday, the company i ordered from claimed it was posted the day after the order but this was a lie and they delayed it purposely for a month to 'make space for those who spent more'. Complete . But after complaining they apologized. Cough cough game cough. (Found out from ups when it was posted and game admitted fault.
Beware if you ship for collection at Argos in Sainsbury’s. I’ve had my package returned after three failed attempts but the person I sent it to checked with Argos and they know nothing about it the UPS driver had tried to deliver to Sainsbury’s without attempting to go in the store and this has happened before to him. I’m now in dispute with UPS

Heat for not being Hermes.....worst CS next to Scottish Power, Ryanair and Virgin Media.
I thought ups were awful, infact ... a quick check on trustpilot verifies this. You may be shocked.

I wouldn't call it luck. They've been reliable everytime I needed them and the tracking was always upto date. Usually its items weighing below 2KG (I always use Ebay packlink - Excellent service and rates are cheap compared to usual and best of all tracking is included) but I did post an Xbox One S using Hermes and they delivered it to Llandudno Wales in a couple of days, buyer was left happy and that's the most important thing. I did use UPS to post a 28 inch monitor, it was the only time I used them and they delivered the parcel to the buyer in 2 days after collecting it from my house. Apart from that its Hermes I use when selling items but even to return items Royal Mail do a fantastic job aswell.

DPD have the app which you don’t need a printer and drop it off at the Pickup Shop, domestic and Internationally

DPD? They used to be very good and cheap but not anymore. Service quality is awful, parcels arrive all battered, like someone deliberately plays football with them. I now choose Hermes and that tells a lot about DPD service in MK

They've been pretty good with the smaller items for me too.

Its the larger items 10 - 15kg that seem too be an issue.
This is operated by parcel 2 go, you have no dealing with UPS.

Good luck if something goes wrong.

Depending on dimensions it can be cheaper to buy direct with ups.

Haven’t tried Hermes then

I checked them out ages ago when i got sick of orders they were delivering to me were a joke, they would either leave stuff in my bin or the one time, they delivered it to a house 20 houses down the street cuz they couldnt be bothered to deliver to theirs and mine then just updated the delivery info to say where they had delivered to. I had to knock the door of people i didnt even know to get it. They are w@#k
Smashed 2 fully insured laptops, refused to pay up. Scammers.

Disagree that they are a good company. Last time I used them, they were only able to deliver Monday- Friday 9-5. Just unrealistic to expect every recipient you deliver to, to be available during working hours.

Hermes atm is performing well atm. On the same level as DPD for the deliveries I've had, and Amazon/RM.

If RM did tracking at this level, they'd smash their competition.

Same here. My parcel has been in Manchester for 4 days (where I live) which is a joke tbh. I'll go and collect it from the depot myself if it's allowed as it's a laptop that has already taken 6 weeks since order!!!
Ups were very great few years back.well worth the extra cost. Now the worse we have ever used.Avoid if you dont want the stress!

They have a great network of local shops, where they can drop of your parcel if you will not be at homeand you can pick it up. (and to be fair, they do deliver on Saturdays but for a fee)
It actually says upto 20kg when you click into the info! Thats insane value. Thanks for this, i have some heavy packages to shift!

If you use Interparcel then you can see that DX and ParcelForce, amongst others, are couriers that bring pre-printed labels to your door for parcels.
A good deal for lower value items; UPS Today is a subsidiary of Parcel2Go, whose insurance price is one of the highest in the industry, be warned. You may be better using Interparcel.com . Their base price for UPS is £7.80 but the insurance is much cheaper and their customer service is very good and I've not had any issues with claims being rejected.
Ups are the worst courier Ive had experience with, the app and the my choice app is totally rubbish, I've been expecting a parcel for 14 days now I've phoned them up 6 times wasted over 500 minutes of my credit and my life they guaranteed me on the phone yesterday it would be with me by today, the time is now 19:20 and surprise surprise its still no here another 60 minutes wait on the phone in the morning to a call centre in the Middle East probably say the parcel been lost again if I can understand the language
