Just saw that Halfords is having a clearout of their 2010 Boardman bikes with savings up to £200.

Tempted to go for the Boardman Comp Road Bike at £559 myself reduced from £700.

Now is the perfect time to buy a bike if you want discounts as it's just before the new season and you can still get 2010 bikes with decent sizes.

I put £399 down as that is the cheapest for the ladies Hybrid. The bikes range from £399 to £999. That Carbon one is awesome for £999

Can you use bike for work through the website? I thought it was instore only

Also it would take a month for the voucher to come through (for me anyway) doubt the offer would still be around

Yeah instore only. I guess it's good for people who has already applied and have their voucher.

I was going to get a voucher but just read the rules changed last year and you now have to pay an amount equal to the market value of th evehicle when the payments finish??? what a jip

So if you bought decent bike, but reduced in a sale, you could end up paying through the nose when the payments finish as it would be based on original RRP?

I think it's one of those put the price up for 24 hours and drop £200 off deals, I've been watching the boardman road prices for a while and they were not £700 for the road bikes when I was interested in them.

I think it has to be 28 days - but yes the Boardman Road Bike Team Carbon 2010 was £999 and is ... £999 NOT £1,199!!!!

Brilliant bike but standard price.

I just bought a bike from Halfords and the 30% of Carrera models expired that evening. The price stayed up for a week and came back down again. As a plus wbought ordered Quidco was down and I signed up to top cash back. I have had tracking emails from topcashback and Quidco as the card I used was registered for instore use, although I paid online but for collection in store.

No, it's a genuine price cut in order to clear the stocks, as the 2011 models are just about to be released.

Nope - the road carbon 2010 was £999 in 2010. They now claim to be knocking off £200 and selling it for ... £999!!! The quoted £1199 price is a late inflated price. This is not a genuine reduction as we know it.

Buy it because its worth it. The bike is a bargain without fictitious price cuts.

Everything got a price rise with the January Vat rise. Some got a rise of £20 some £200. Most of these bike have previously been on sale at these prices. Saying that last time I looked (about a month or 2 ago) women's hybrid was the cheapest at £399. And the men's one was below £500 but above £450, cant remember the exact price but remember thinking could a ladies bike fit a 6ft man!

Afternoon all :-)
I'm looking for a womens mountain bike from Halfords but the range is quite large. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to which bike is best for someone just biking for enjoyment but looking for comfort. My old bike gives me such shoulder pain that I've stopped using it.
I think the two main contenders are the womens Kraken halfords.com/web…499 or the Boardman Sport which is a mans bike halfords.com/web…499 The Kraken gets good reviews but i've also read that the Boardmans are a fantastic machine and wonder if I would be better off paying the extra £70 even though I'll be getting a mans bike?
I appreciate your thoughts peeps :-)
