Please read before the usual anti-DFS abuse starts...

DFS have been sending out Vouchers through the post recently, 10 x £40

Each voucher can be used on any individually priced item.

So not a great deal if your buying a £1500 single sofa, but i am going to buy a modular sofa which consists of 5-6 pieces, so i will get up to £240 off.

Only valid up to this Sunday, but this is a rare genuine discount of their existing prices.

I will never buy a sofa from DFS again.

Spend 2000.00 on 1 sofa and the head rest on one end was 3 inches shorter than the other, had to return it 3 times before they said, sorry nothing we can do, as all the sofa's are made in a sweat shop in china.

I then had to order another one, which was ok, but the seats were cheap and started saging only after a year, and that was 1500.00, I will need to get it re-stuffed, but it has no zipper, so will need to undo the stiching.

Just because its intrest free, they think they can make garbage, next time, will take out a intrest free credit card and go somewere, were they are about quality.

Also to boot, the staff in cardiff are all chavs in suits, they act like no win no fee solicitors, all jumping over each other to try rip you off.
totally agree **** merchandise !
The DFS site states MADE IN THE UK on the front page...

They have 3 UK factories.

At the end of the day, you should have rejected the goods upfront, or gone through the small claims court.

I've never experienced a bad DFS sofa and i have sat on 2 or 3

What it actually says is ...... "Many of our products are made in our 3 UK factories"

That could mean anything from 1 to 99%
My parents had a DFS sofa and armchairs. The sofa got pretty heavy usage and didn't last very well... chairs are still OK but then they haven't been sat on that much.

Best thing about DFS is that they have been using XTC's Stupidly Happy in their latest tv ads.

Doubt they would have 3 factories for 1% of goods sold...

More likely the lamps and non-sofa furniture they sell is made overseas
I've never had a problem with a DFS sofa.

DFS wouldn't be one of the largest Sofa retailers in the country if they only sold expensive tat.
You'd have to be a very unlucky person to pay full price for a DFS sofa.
I did hear a whisper that thy may have a sale soon...(_;)
No buy now pay 2112 option i'am out

I must be one of two or three people in the UK that actually paid full price for a DFS sofa - am I unlucky? Probably:p
My biggest issue with this post is that it depends on DFS actually sending you the vouchers on a non-solicited basis : You can only take advantage of the offer if they've mailed you, so you'd know about the offer anyway.
Putting this info on HUKD doesn't actually make the offer available to anyone.
Which is a pity, cos I'm looking at getting a new suite.

I think if you went into a store they would honour the deal without the voucher
I think you'll find if you say you've forgotten the sofa they'll probably honour in order to get a sale (I've seen them do it before - and also when they used to offer on specific sale days they'd honour on other days too). I used to do casual work there helping customers with dimensions etc as I was never authorised to do any selling. I think it used to be their own factories which offered the 10 year guarantee and the 5 year guarantee was on the other factories but I left there about 18 months ago so may have changed.
