No one wants to be dry in January, especially when you're in Grantham. Not a bad deal though, room for two, dinner, bed, and breakfast, and drinks from 2pm to midnight. Have a p… Read more

Grantham is the most depressing place in the world!

I just thought it was an interesting deal... For accomodation, a three course dinner, breakfast, and unlimited drinks. Premier Inn might be cheaper, but are they after you've factored in a 10hr bender? I just thought I'd post it and let it find its own heat. I hoped it might be for the benefit of the HUKD community, but few seem to share my notion that it's an ok deal. It makes no odds to me whether it's considered a good deal or not, but being asked if I've a vested interest in this business is as rude as it is ridiculous. Of course I haven't. FWIW I know all about Travelodge's cheap rooms. I had a godawful 'holiday' once at Lakeside Services just off the M25 for no reason other than the rooms were £5 per night. :)

Were you drunk when you posted this or do you have a sneaky interest in said hotel? Have you never heard of travelodge or premier inn? They do rooms from £19 dontchaknow

Wish I never posted this deal. Worst night sleep I ever had. Staff were arrogant and general manager was a condescending spike.

Hotel is near a good cycle track on the old canal if you like cycling. Then come back for 2pm and get plastered!!

dishmachine888

Yeah you can book any day you like. Maybe the hotel could do with a refurb but what do you want for £99 all in ? It's £4-£5 a beer and as its all included, I wouldn't be spending much time in the room !

Kammykay

I booked a Saturday..

Great deal but don't expect too much from the hotel. It's in major need of a refurb. Also I might be wrong but it looks like this is for a Sunday night stay only. For the money though you're getting a great deal all the same.

Right, lets get back to the topic, and as I don't post very often, I hope this helps people who are unsure. I have just got back from experiencing this offer with her indoors. The hotel is very nice, the leisure centre looks lovely (not experienced personally), the rooms were lovely, clean, well appointed, roomy, with tea and coffee and toiletries etc. The bed was large and extremely comfy. The staff could not do enough to help, the free bar was exactly that and the offer does include beer, cider, lager, house spirits, wines etc etc. The dinner was 3 courses...I had pate and toast to start, pork with apple mash and veg followed by banoffee waffle and ice cream. Of course any of the aforementioned drinks were included in the offer and the staff brought them to your table so you didn't have to go out of the restaurant area to collect them. The breakfast was lovely, hot cold buffet selection including all the elements of a full english....with me so far? We worked out that this was probably worth between £200 and £250. So....youre waiting for the glitch right? The sentence that puts you off, the clause, the fine print? So were we, and another 4 or 5 groups that were there on the same deal. There wasn't one. We simply checked out and paid our £99. Now I am sure that someone might be a little dissapointed that there wasn't black pudding, or that there was a puddle in the car park, or.....you know what i mean, but we think this is a genuinely cracking deal. I will be putting a similarly positive review on tripadvisor, because quite honestly if we had paid for a room, then everything on top, we would not be dissapointed (although I may not have had quite so many G and T's!) Cheers!

But he went to school in Grantham, so its got that going for it

What good shops are these? marks and spencers? Oh, no that's closed down. Monsoon? Nope. Topshop? Nope. Burtons? Nope. Perhaps the high street is littered with independent delis and artisan bakers? Nope. Perhaps there are lots of independent music shops? Nope If you like charity, pound or discount shops you are in for a treat. There is Downtown, which is home to Britains largest garden center. But that isn't in Grantham, technically. Yes its a good commuter town, but most of those that commute live in the outlying villages, which are mostly very pleasant.

shoomshoom

Shouldn't that be a grocer's famous daughter?
