True, I remember those reports, not worth it imo
I have 2 Gocomma cables for my kids phones, although purchased via other 'sellers', they're still going strong after 6 months / no issues whatsoever.
Just grabbed this also as a spare for my OnePlus
Agreed, it’s just not worth the risk with usb-c. A dodgy cable will fry your phone in an instant.
Thing is if you’re going to be using it for something cheap then it’s a steal! If you’re using it to charge a high-end phone or laptop then it’s worth investing in a more trusted brand.
Although I'm tempted!
Belkin too.
The Benson test. Lol.. Not doing it now however amazon only sold cables that passed the Benson test so I understood. Benson got xxsxxd when his first phone fried so took it upon himself to test type c cables and post the results. Way to go Benson
Every good geek deserves his day. Bit of an eye opener though, I'm way more careful since reading it a couple of years back...
I've just tried it and it worked for me.
Agreed. Maybe the usage resets after midnight?! Ordered. Thanks!
Funnily enough, I recall reading from that same link being presented at the back end of last Year some time?, via another Thread ...
Makes for some interesting reading nonetheless.
