Apple sells this for £35

You can also use this cable with your Apple 29W, 61W or 87W USB-C Power Adapter to charge your iOS device, and even take advantage of the fast-charging feature on iPad Pro, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X.

(You can also charge your iphone 7/7plus quickly too, Watched youtube video and it goes 50% in 30minutes same as iphone

The fact that we even need to consider paying Apple for this sickens me. They use a standard like USB-C and still find a way to rip off customers with an overpriced cable. And people complained at Lightning cables costing £15...

Anyway if you are that impatient that you absolutely need slightly faster charging, then I stumbled on this:

It says ‘genuine’ so you can get a refund if it’s not. As the cables don’t really do a lot, I think you’re probably ok. Anyway if you don’t need genuine, you can get them on eBay as low as £2 (which also suggests that there are no clever electronics in the lead itself).

But the whole thing is a farce - to have the charger you need, you would either own a MacBook or have spent £29 on the USB-C block so the least they could do is not charge you a stupid pricefor the cable to be able to utilise this. It’s a shame the EU was so wet and pathetic in making Apple standardise - we’ve had nearly 10 years of most phones accepting the standard micro USB and it’s been a godsend.
