USB data cable and charger for iPhone 5/5s/5c.

I have purchased and I can confirm that it works with my iPhone 5. Similar to the ones at Poundland, just in different packaging.

Queue the backlash about cheap cables...

Agreed. The bit that connects the mains power supply to this cable NEEDS to be gen, otherwise you could find yourself sporting a new hair style

these cheap cables still don't work properly with lightning
I bought a branded (unofficial though) cable last week, and although I don't get any warning msg's, it still takes twice as long to charge my iPad with it vs the official cable.

It works for me I have lots of no legit charges dotted around the house. Just say on the screen you are using non-legit equipment but charges.

They work ok, but mine failed after a couple of weeks use. Won't complain for a £1 though!

great price keep one at work as a spare

Cheap belt!

Got a diff brand one in poundland a few weeks back and it didn't charge at all no matter how long it was plugged in. Worth a try for a pound though

Works for me

Are you using 7.0.4?

I wonder if they'll block them completely in 7.1.

This is a piece of sh *t.. Bought one last year.. Nearly scolded my hand.. They get proper hot when charging and can melt.. Don't saying didn't warn you..

Heat added (literally)...

Ditto. Not considered a worthwhile purchase. Okay for synchronizing but for charging a definite no. Furthermore noticed that the connector temporarily shorts whilst being plugged into a device which at a guess can cause damage. Don't necessarily agree with paying vast sums of money for genuine cables but in instances where device damage can occur and the cable doesn't charge I'd opt for a genuine cable. Shop around though as prices do vary.

Great deal Hot!!!

Just buy them off ebay. loads on there!

Worth buying, but only if you have home insurance

I am a bit worry to use cheap cable for 600 pounds mobile phone.
It can damage my phone ??

Same on eBay although we got through 2 faulty ones in a week. Perhaps these are a bit better? Deffo easier to return

you will have to end up buying 6 due them breaking.

not worth the money.

And life insurance!

Ive bought one this week, and although it was only a quid, it does work on my ipad mini, not really expecting it to last though, although a lot quicker getting hold of one that buying from amazon or ebay.

Cheap crap, bought one this week, worked twice then nothing since then

I understand that a pound isn't much to spend, but if you have to buy a new one every month, plus the (apparent) inherent risk with the non-genuine leads, isn't it a false economy?
Good to know Poundland have them though in case you go away for a couple of days and forget yours.

For a few pence more on eBay you can get one that doesn't give the warning on iOS7. I got fed up of having to dismiss the warning each time as I use it daily in the car..!

Also, the lead won't cause any fires. It's the dodgy chargers that do that.

Bought 2 - none worked, cold

I had 2 of ebay and they both nearly set on fire lol, came from hong kong

Cheap wires and plugs are just not safe. Not worth risking life and limb for a few quid.

If you have a £600+ phone, why risk breaking your phone over spending a few extra quid! A guy at work used one of these and it wrecked his phone. Ruined the phone!

Compared to the original one, it takes ages to charge up your phone.

better off giving the quid to charity at least ur get some satisfaction that it went to a good cause instead of these chinese crap merchants

I know its £15 for a genuine cable but it is worth it

Have you looked at the reviews on the Apple Store site for the offical cables? They seem to be just as bad but at 15 times the price.

Having said that, bought 3 2m cables off eBay and none are able to charge the iPad Air... Trying a few other designs before I even think about forking out £25 for the offical Apple 2m cable that past customers don't think much of.

AVOID!!! These things are dangerous and shouldn't be sold.

600 quid phone, 1 quid cable. Use your brains.

It's only a usb cable, shouldn't be able to kill you. Unless you get strangled by it...

Me foooked then

Been looking for one of these, thanks OP. I had one of these cheap cables for my iPhone 4S and it was great as a spare. No msgs or mental heat.

Havent voted either way, but nothing new here, these USB cables, adapters, and earphones are always a pound (POUNDLAND), make no mistake though these are made really to last a day or two, CRAP
