Not sure if the 'Free internet for Life' would stand up in court,Samba's life not yours !

Hi, At the risk of sounding really silly, plz can someone tell me if I`m right in saying,I can plug this into my laptop and never need to top it up to use the internet???

This really works, I have accumulated over 1gb of data, which doesnt run out over time, I bought my sim for £1 and being really cheap I bought a dongle on ebay for a tenner, plugged it in to my new £80 tablet, told you I was cheap, and it worked straight away. Word of warning though, tried it on my son's Nexus 7 and it wouldnt work, so tablet has to be 3g ready I think, may be a way round it but you have to root your tablet.

depends if you are a heavy user or not, I've found that you can top up (by watching ads) to the tune of about 100mb per day, you get about 2-3mb per ad watched, but thats about your maximum per day, the ads just run out

The Nexus 7 needs to be Rooted and you need to use StickMount App and PPP App after that. I can use my Dongle (Vodafone and 3 networks) without any problem. The Nexus 7 3G has a different ROM to the basic non-3G version. I suspect the poster has a rooted android tablet. Rooting isn't difficult for the Nexus 7 and some Toolkits do it with a single key press.

I use Samba with a Huawei MiFi dongle, which uses WiFi instead of USB. It works well with every device I've tried - smartphone, Android tablet, laptop PC, iPod Touch. I suspect the Nexus would work fine with this without the need to root it.

Got mine working with an unlocked O2 dongle that was on here a couple of weeks ago. I think they use the 3 network FYI.

This is correct. You need to watch advertisements to earn data credits, which you can use to browse the Internet.

I also use this with my MiFi wireless dongle for my tablet and I set my mom up with one and a wireless dongle which she uses on her laptop. Works great. The only caveat, when using the laptop you have to be careful of programs that auto-update and download hundreds of megs without warning, such as Windows update or Norton anti virus - they can eat the data you've saved very quickly. But even if this happens (it has), you can quickly rebuild your credit by watching ads. All in all it's a really good deal. I'd grab one while they only cost a quid.

Ordered.. Handy to have in my iPad for emergencies!

Assuming the micro sim would also work in an iPhone, does anyone know if you can tether instead of just using as mobile data on the phone?

Ive got one of these sims although havent really used it properly yet.

100mb a day is not a lot tbh, just surfing the net for 2 hours would use that without downloading anything.

Just ordered..... do you know what network it uses for the data?

Yes, sort of. You never need to top it up if you watch the ads online. Each ad gives you 3.5mb of data allowance. I use my home broadband to watch the ads as if you used this sim in a dongle to watch the ads it would eat your data allowance (I think). I have accumilated 4.2gb or more of data, I never really noticed it go down, I only use it with my tablet for the odd bit of browsing. I watch ads pretty much every day now but recently have noticed there aren't as many ads this week than other weeks? Technically you don't have to watch them, just press play and wait til it finishes, sometimes you can just wait a few mins without pressing play even but I tend not to do that as perhaps they could kick you off it if they saw you werent watching any ads. Some are a bit interesting, you often see the same ads over and over for a few weeks until they change them. Some are 20secs, some are about 6 mins.

I use the sim in a Huawei MiFi device so its easy to use my tablet or whatever else, it justs connects to the wifi connection.

It uses 3 network, the credit never expires unless you use it all of course. When I did a speedtest it was about 2.5mb down and 1.5mb up, but I think it could go faster I just havent run speedtest much, I'm not in an ideal spot for 3G access either. It loads webpages quick, ping is about 80-90ms as it runs off the satellites but its still good.

Thanks OP ..... (_;)

The dongle that they provide is a great dongle, you might find one a few quid cheaper but is it worth it?

Forgive me for being stupid but would this be the perfect answer for my tablet & laptop when at our caravan where there is no internet??? Please can you let me know thanks

Thanks OP.

Used the code and got the regular size SIM for £1 delivered. Seems a good concept and I don't mind spending a quid to try it out in my unlocked 3 dongle.

No, whatever credit you use to watch an ad doesn't come off your balance..well it does but then is credited back. I have one in a mifi and use it for when i'm out and about with my nexus 7.

Currently have 5GB of credit available as I don't really use it much. As mentioned you only really get about 100mb a day worth of ads at best so if your a heavy user something like this will be no good for you. Unless you get maybe a few sims and keep swapping

hopefully works in my unlocked o2 dongle

depends if you can get a 3 signal in that area

I have one of these sims as a backup. Hardly use it but it's nice that the allowance doesn't run out at the end of the month. One potential downside is that the the videos sometimes don't work properly meaning you waste some of your allowance watching a video that doesn't pay out (they say that the ads don't use your allowance but I'm not so sure)

You don't have to watch the videos over Samba's network, it's easier to just build up a healthy dose of credit at home.

Not voted YET, still reading the comments and waiting for more replys from others and what they think

The code does not work for me

How do I get one?

OP do you have shares in the company or something?! Just looked into this out of interest and you've posted this before a couple times. None of my business I guess but hey ho, curious as I said!

Ordered a sim hope it works well

Been using this for a few months now and is great for a quid, already got my monies worth. I build credit watching a few videos a day at home. As others have said the great thing is that you don't lose your credit each month. Only people who probably won't benefit are heavy users who stream or download loads of content on the go. I tend to download stuff at home and then transfer to my tablet to watch later.

Oh and you don't even have to watch the videos if you don't want but not in the spirit I guess.I just turn my speakers off sometimes click play and carry on working or surfing.

Yeah I should have ordered the dongle with it, but now that I've ordered just the sim I'd rather find a cheaper dongle.
