£8.10 delivered. Play do a 1GB maxell with 64mb extra freebie for £6.99 delivered.

Er...good pic for the USB pen!

the play maxells come with installed software, which is impossible to delete, can someone help me find a solution to how to delete the damn software. when plugged in two drives mount onto the system, a usb drive and a cd drive (in which the software is installed). I wudnt recommend ne1 getting the play maxells for an old system it doesn't work, it crashes the computer, (blue screen etc etc).

I've got a pair of these on order but in the meantime try this...

1: Right click My Computer and select Manage.
2: Double click Disk Management.
3: If the USB stick has more than 1 partition, you may be able to delete all of them, make a single partition to fill the disk, then re-format it.

On the other hand, you may not... I'll know when mine turn up I suppose.

If its the u3 software you want rid of try this u3.com/uni…ll/ i cant stand it its bloated software anyway! Most apps you can get in portable software format anyway without the u3 launchpad filling your space up too!

Love portable Firefox, means I can order form Uwish and still keep IE

That crappy software came with my Disgo drive as well, its a pain in the ar5e!

£8.24 with p&p.

Tried formatting, tried partitioning, becoz its a cd drive, formatting doesn't work, nor does partitioning, tried disk management but no luck either, it says it is a fixed drive, i cant delete that partition. i evn had a go with nero but no luck it doesn't work.

oh forgot its not u3 software. its sumfing similar tho.

What does it show as under disk management? 2 drives or 1 drive with 2 partitions?

in disk management it shows a cd drive called utility, and a usb drive. basically it mounts a cd drive onto my system, and i need sumfing to remove the cd drive from the usb stick.

Ok possible solution. Go to management again, select the ghost CD drive, right click and select Change Drive Letter then REMOVE. Confirm then remove the USB stick and plug it back in. That 'should' disable the CD drive startup.....

cheers shengis, just did it and it worked. it didnt remove the partition tho, but at least it is gona be compatible with my brothers computer. lol. cheers mate.

Now the partitions no longer and active drive you could do the delete thing I first suggested to regain the space. Probably be best if you did as removing the drive letter only works on the computer it was set on.

ur right agn mate it crashes his computer, and i cant delete it either.

Well mine have been sent today apparently, so i'll have a play when they arrive:thumbsup:

On a £/GB ratio, ]this 4GB SanDisk USB2 flash drive from Amazon would be more value for money @ £17.99 delivered with Super Saver delivery, not to mention the quality & reliability of SanDisk products.
