Just picked up a multi phone charger from poundland. I've had them before but they have never had the lightning connector. This has the iphone 30 pin, lightning and micro USB. Tested it and it works fine.

The only trouble is that with IOS7, any leads that are not genuine will only charge at half speed max.
If you are happy with an overnight charge, that is OK, if you need a boost in the day, it can be a pain.

If you are looking for a quick boost try turning flight mode on while charging

It was bad enough when they brought out a Poundland USB to straight lightening adaptor, but a multi-one... oO

Poof! Your phone and house goes up in flames. Really? Is this cheap tat worth the potential risk?

Never would I plug this into a £549 phone. Anyone who uses this better have another phone. They'll need it when the phone explodes and the room goes up in flames!

these work great with the Anker portable charger I got a while back, phones charge well but tablet is slow

These work for a couple of weeks at the most and then go a bit funny. Most Poundland tech products do.

Love the scaremongers on this thread though. Seriously? A cable is going to blow my house up?

Another thing to consider: these cables will likely be no good for charging a tablet - they can't handle 2.1A through them. My last one just got really hot and only pushed under 1A to my iPad. A few hours later it was completely broken.

Thats because they actually don't work, I got one and went in the bin in 5 seconds.... utter rubbish, I swear they only make money because people dont have the patience to return the tat....

Sometimes I really miss the pre-internet days when people who didn't have a clue about a topic would leave comments to someone did... (Though I guess that still happened, it was just not made publicly available! )

I had a cheap lightning cable and worked great but after a while it stopped. It went hotter than anything on this site in terms of temperature. so you do have to be careful. I strongly recommend the usb micro to lightning adapters for a £1. Charge superfast. No silly authenticity message. and so small you can have one in your wallet/purse all the time.

Why are Apple so damn controlling and crap?

The problem with this cable is much simpler than Apple. It's just rubbish.

I recommend not to buy this! Will work once or twice, maybe more if you are lucky but definitely not worth it. I have been using Amazon Basics (around 12 pounds I think) lightning charger for a while now and it seems to be going strong, the benefit with Amazon being their customer service is very, very good so would happily replace/refund if any problems I am sure. Or just suck it up and pay 25 quid for an Apple one. Yes its annoying and expensive, but you get what you pay for

Got a couple of the 99p china multi USB cables off ebay nearly a year ago and they are both still going strong :-)
The good ones will also have the DATA lines pulled low so that they will charge at full speed / faster from an A.C adapter or USB3/USB2 Charge port.

Useful stuff. It has been there for over a year now. But it's cable is just too small.

I use the poundland cables for the car, usually last about 2 weeks then stop.

They won't blow your phone up or cause any damage, just don't be using cheap adapters!

Only 95 pennies in our Poundland. Actually every thing is 95p there. A 99p store opened opposite Poundland, and it's been gloves off , fight , fight, fight. They both dropped to 97p and Poundland went lower.

I've not had one of these, so won't comment directly on the product, but the cables Poundland sell that look like the authentic ones are bad. Do not under any circumstances by one of the 'lightning' style ones. I've had two in the past few weeks and both broke. Both stopped charging when plugged in and you'd have to re-insert the cable a bunch of times until it worked, and eventually even that would stop happening.

Again, not tried this exact cable, but if you have a choice, you're better off trying this deal than the more typical style ones in Poundland.

I have had one and returned
As it does not charge my iphone 4
