its always the case that the one in the picture shows like 12 stars

Is it necessary to keep having these Poundland deals?
You could post thousands in a row with everything you find in there.

If you find a PS3 with 5 games for £1 let me know, but it's nothing but tat being posted here

Or you could just avoid posts clearly saying POUNDLAND. oO

This is not even worth £1.
It never works. Be careful or you could destroy your PC.

It wouldn't matter if they were selling dog turds in plastic bags, the point is weather or not it's a hot deal, if you can find the same item for much less then you might have a case.

Destroy your PC? How over the top are you? Grow up.

BTW I'm getting some of these for the laptop on the counter at work, We've had a poundland usb laptop cooler under it for 2 years now and it's been on 9 hours a day 6 days a week.

Shouldn’t these be called ‘winter lights’!!!

I dont think thats very impressive, actually my laptop is on for 12hrs a day at least on a leather sofa or glass table every day, and its now 2 years old!
Good laptops shouldn't really need extra cooling.

If these short circuited they could fry a laptop. Ive seen a dodgy webcam take out a dell (mind you, light and sensible usage can take out a dell) But I doubt a desktop would have a problem, would probably just shut down.

I dont think its a very good deal, 8 lights isnt very many and LED lights on PC's is very tacky anyway. Its up there with fake carbon fibre and tribal patterns.

Make this yourself with some 5V LED's and spare cable, more 'techie'.

The laptop is 5 years old and doesn't need extra cooling, I'm talking about the £1 stand/cooler lasting two years not the laptop itself. We got the cooler because the angle makes it slightly easier for typing on the laptop in the counter.

behave, its christmas

I jolly well hope so, it's useful info to some people.
As another poster points out if you don't wish to see them then just ignore any posts with Poundland in the title! Simple really.

On that basis then it would be silly to plug anything into a usb port because any other device could also do this! And why the dig at Dell, I have a Dell Studio XPS 8100 and it's brilliant.

The most ridiculous comment of the lot, why bother when you can buy for a pound, in any case White or Blue LED's actually cost more than red, green and yellow, you can buy those for pennies but decent blue or white LEDs are often 20p - 35p each so I don't see how you could make an 8 LED set for £1.00!

I'm going to buy some... in the hope they fry my PC... then it should be easier to convince the wife we need a new one... or even the insurance co...

Short circuiting a USB device doesnt 'fry' your PC. (_;)

you just get a ' USB Power Surge ' message.

cool!

lol i want them X)

Not really silly to plug anything in, But a quid set of lights that people are already reporting have broken after 1 days use isn't a smart idea.

Ergh if this is what christmas has come to - 8 Dodgy LED lights on your monitor...
Cant the lights stay on the tree / window / Outdoors - Where they can at least look slightly tasteful.

Difference between a surge and a short. Also It depends on the USB chipset and the Vregs used and lots of other factors. But I have seen a usb device kill a laptop - Or did the motherboard happen to fry its 5V circuit the moment the faulty usb camera was plugged in?

HA HA HA of course this is a hot deal ! Even if you don't particularly like them it has got to deserve heat just from the picture ! Love the fact HUKD is on the screen ! I definably getting some of these ! heat added

all these hatters, if you don't want them don't buy them, find something a deal you like and click on that ! Why would you click on a deal that you thought was so bad ! the point is it is not going to fry your pc, and it is a bit of tacky Christmas fun same as Santa suits, tinsel, borbles, fake snow and singing dancing snowmen on your mantle piece. The difference is that this costs £1 and not everyone got them. Christmas is tacky but it is what is fun about it, Barhumbug is a word that pops into my mind !
