I thought these were a good idea, recently been reduced and cheapest on the net too. No wires, no extra equipment cluttering up the place...

If you own a Wii like me, you'll know the batteries dont last for long. Buy these and plug them into your Wii's USB ports overnight and by morning you'll have fully recharged batteries all ready to wii !

Good for digital cameras too and anything else that takes AA sized batteries.

Don't forget your 2% Quidco and free delivery.

I believe they had these for about 5.99 the other day, seem to have put the price up now, but still a handy little gadget.

Problem - Most people usually charge batteries in sets of two or four. Is it practical to charge a set of batteries using USB ports? I could maybe spare one or two USB ports for a limited time for charging but not four. This means it would take at least twice as long to charge four batteries or four times as long if you only have one spare port. This is a non-starter to me as I can currently charge a set of four batteries in around two hours. What good are more expensive batteries which would take two or four times as long to charge?

The Wii has two usb ports on the back, however is the distance between the two ports large enough to enable two usb cells to be attached at the same time?

guys my puter has like 8 usb ports, 2 on my keyboard and 2 on Wii. no shortage here

If your going away and taking a laptop with you or at work or anywhere other than home Id much rather take these with me than a bulky charger.Charging in 2 hours or 4 hours wouldnt make any difference at all when Im alsleep in bed or hard at work, like now :whistling: I think you'll find these are targeted more towards gamers than the kind of batteries you would put in an alarm clock say for example. I have 6 USB ports on my PC, 4 on my laptop and 2 in my Wii, ill always find a spare port

just checked with play.com too. They have never sold these for £5.99 and Ive never seen them for this price either. If only they were though

its a good idea, but you can get normal recharable batteries which hold double the charge for half the price of these.

This is the same price the manufacturer/supplier sells them for retail online also with free delivery ;-)

Or get a box of 10 from them for £99.95

(They also had a 15% off promo code a month ago, but that's expired now :-( )

It's a novel idea, agreed, but I can't class it as a hot deal at this price, sorry.

Thanks premier

They have some pretty cool ideas about things you can use them with:

This site mentions Nintendo/Xbox use.

there isnt enough power to put in a decent camera and i would rather pay £3 for 4 2500's and carry around a "bulky" charger than keep pc or laptop on all night to charge batteries

Ditto. Even on a PC..you couldn't put these next to each other and on my maching I would have to put one at the fron and one at the back....lol

I also remeber seeing these at 5.99 for a pair, although perhaps it was another online merchant. It was sometime between mid December and Feb if I recall.

just to let you know ive got a pair of these you cant fit both batteries in at one time, you have to charge them one at a time or charge them on something else. the other issue is that they are quite small capacity compared to non rechargeable/some newer rechargable batteries and so at full charge only show the wiimote as half charged.
still not bad for saving on batteries though the charge station thats ust coming out will be considerably better.

Aria had these on Super Special a few month back, price, a whopping 99p I think!
