bought this TV stick here in a local (Hythe/ Dover) ALDI .. £14.9

works very good with Laptop ... and PC..

..even with the supplied excellent 'Dell' little 2 prong Antenna

...and the whole stick is only 1/2 size of a Memory stick

I receive 37 TV programs and
altogether 65 programs .. via this gadget ..

Will work 'globally' -- so excellent choice to watch TV -... when not at home (....on the move)

3 Year Aldi warranty

... and no wait for CHINA ... deliveries ;-))

Sounds good, is there any ariel requirement at all or is it all done from the stick?

And any lag at all?

Ah, just read about an antennae.

Is that my question answered? lol

A good price for the high-street meaning it's easy to take back for a refund if you need to.

No good for me as I would need a proper aerial; now a usb dvb-s for this price would be great:)

just looked website and there's mention of it on there. maybe it was from last wk's deals?

Hi bought one of these today but cannot find any channels due to signal problems, any tips?

try another aerial, they ones supplied are usually rubbish, especially in poor signal areas

what channels will you get on this then?

The freeview ones. Which of those depends on how good your reception is.

Pretty average price for a TV stick.
May not have the most sensitive of tuners.

Aldi are the WORST company for consumer rights I have EVER dealt with.... they shun the law, and insist you deal with the distributor... :x

Good buy if you live next door to a transmitter.

Well if you buy it from them and take it back cos it's faulty they are responsible.

Lidl are pretty good if you take stuff back and I took a speed radar detector back to Aldi and got a refund no problem.

Freeview signals are weaker than analogue so I think many would need an external aerial.

Maybe the Aldi near you, I bought an mp3 player a few years ago in Dec. and the following Dec. it had a problem so sent it back just before the warranty run out and they exchanged it for a new one, and it was a better one.

They've turned analogue off here in the sw and boosted up the digital signal which is what i've been waiting for before picking one of these dvb-t sticks up. Freeview signal quality on the main tv and boxes is superb now :-D

Hey thanks for that site TVCatchup.com , I hadn't heard of it either , Saves me having Telly on in background . Nice one .

TV Catchup has to be the way forward

Thanks for that mate Great Link!

Aerials that come with these type of products are useless. I use this aerial in conjunction with a booster and I'm in a poor signal area, I can still pickup plenty of freeview channels.

argos.co.uk/sta…htm

You can buy the above aerial from argos for £19.99 with a booster built in, dunno how good it is.

nice buy !

However you still have to pay £142.50 for TV Licensing :x

I find Zattoo: zattoo.com/ to be a better alternative than tvcatchup. You simply have to download a tiny app, register for free and run the app everytime you want to watch a program-You can save yr login/password so that you don't have to enter it everytime you login. Once downloaded and registered, I find that it takes me less time to watch a channel on zattoo than it does on tvcatchup.

Zattoo is better for netbooks than TV Catchup, which requires a beefier processor to keep up with the decoding. Slightly different selection of channels, as well.

If you want a booster for travelling, this ] little one from Maplins works well with the supplied whip aerials you get with TV dongles. Runs off two AA batteries or a mains adapter and is handy for chucking in a bag.

Looks good and voted hot. Unfortunately no Aldi near enough to check out.

I never actually noticed the processor load. What really appealed to me was the speed that I could have everything up and running. For TVC I have to open a brower, login, find channel.
With Zatto it's all done using my mouse and it has one less process.

great links

thanks al

Zattoo is a free Windows application that will allow you to watch a few freeview channels.

Can't get freeview around here...... or channel 5 for that matter

Thanks for this and thanks lightfast. Zattoo i knew about before. I've tried tvcatchup now and found it was better for me than zattoo from first impressions. Can you get e4 on zattoo, couldn't find it when i tried a short while ago?

Lightfast +rep

anyone know the chipset? I was wondering if it is a Migilia that works with EyeTV.

spent £25 on one like that :s

I use this program for watching TV channels online. It's called Film On HDI, it's a bit like Zattoo but has LOADS more channels!

filmon.com/tv/…php

After downloading just run msconfig (click Windows Start > Search > type "msconfig") and take the tick out of the box next to the Filmon HDI program and it will prevent it from automaticaly starting when you boot up the computer.
