Got this (not delivered yet) with the USB hub (sold out) pjk posted recently as I haven't been watching TV for a few months.

- These USB DVB-T TV Sticks are all fairly the same (same Chinese chips) and you pay £18 to £40 or more for them

- The aerials with ALL these USB Freeview/Digi-TV Sticks under £50 are basically a joke. Get a top compact aerial if on the move but as you know it will not match your rooftop, so use that at home if poss

- Use a rooftop to scan/set channels at init & read the reviews section if having trouble

To Steve, I got the TV jukebox software to install fine on my Vista Home Basic laptop but had a similar problem with the driver. To get it working I had to install it in XP SP2 compatibility mode direct from the CD (Right click the Setup.exe program in the driver folder > Properties > Compatibility). Once that's installed do the same thing to the tv Jukebox software shortcut, plug in the tuner and it should all work! "***** Bill, (Leicester)

While I am not the biggest fan of USB TV sticks, this web site is certainly no substitute whatever your speed!

Where are the channels? eg. Dave. Virgin 1 and a lot more!

USB sticks, no, ALL Freeview reception needs GOOD aerials, not the plug in thing, in most cases, a PCI DVB-T card would be a dearer but better option, preferably with 2 tuners, and video capture too, then it might have a bit more flexibility that you won't get fed up with quickly.

I have a USB Freeview stick which I take with me when caravanning, it plugs into the laptop for more choice in viewing/recording (got Sky for main viewing), but even though mine is branded, I wouldn't be thinking about buying another, and I note that the once HUGE choice of these there used to be, there are a lot fewer to choose from now! Sort of says something!

Slightly better, but still nothing like all the channels there!

TV sticks are for use in the house where there is no TV in that room (TVs make the other rooms ugly/cheap IMHO so I confined it to the livinig room but aerial cables can be discrete) or people on the road or at jobs on shift etc. You don't have to bother with linking and waiting/pre-load ads/dropouts/burdening the load at home etc. either not to mention more channels. Any one of which is well worth £11 or £14.50 if not more.

Thanks for zattoo link, the quality is good but very few channels. TVcatchup does not accept my ISP, any way around it?

If you do a search on the web, you will find that is 100% the norm with ALL of them!
