Thought everywhere was doing it
Depends on the quality of cable and I wouldn't have high hopes for this one if only £1...
Many of these cheap leads will take an age to charge a phone and transfer data.
Used one a while ago to charge my phone when I broke my usual cable, and only charged 30% in 7 hours overnight.
It was connected to to the manufacturers 2A plug and with a decent cable, would charge the phone in 2-3 hours max.
I got one for the car,but when plugged into Samsung fast charger it wouldn't fast charge just standard

Yes... bought a few from the store. The other brands you should be weary of. Had a few cables mess up my car chargers...
Not genuine on ebay the seller said it was the same one as you gt in the box.It arrived and it wasnt genuine messaged seller that it was fake and refunded straight away.If i need one buy from samsung then you know what yer getting..
I bought one a few months ago when I needed a charge, one of the Poundland didn't have them but the other one did .

I woke up to a bubblung sound and the USB c charger melted into my phone.
Now I don't know if if was this cable or the other white cable I bought from a local discount store. But it's worth keeping a eye on.

I know, so was I initially. But after I found an Apple MFI-certified one from Amazon for £1.99 delivered (via Prime), I wasn't surprised any longer: amazon.co.uk/dp/…MTG

Buy rubbish buy twice

Cable or phone after it gets fried? Lol... I stick to anker or aukey brand of cables that are amazon fulfilled as they all pass the Benson Leung test.. He got annoyed when his phone fried with a duff cable and started testing cables.. Way to go Benson... so amazon started selling cables that passed the Benson test only. You pay your money and take your chances I guess

They are not rubbish. I use them all the time. Never had any problem. If you feel happy by buying expensive branded items, so be it. I don't care about brand names, only actual quality and price. It is Oneplus cable which fails the USB C test because Oneplus phone is only usb 2.0 not USB 3.1

Stick with the shenzhen brands
All made in China.

That is not the best cable. You should buy usb c to lightning cable to enable fast charging in iPhone. All new iPhones come with fast charging built in but Apple does supply with its USB c to lightning cable or charger in the packet to keep costs down.

Yes it does, but it is not rated to charge a laptop or Apple Mac.

Been there for ages. I bought one.
Not a chance I would be using one of these when 'proper' ones are avaliable for not much more.

Actually just received some "Genuine" Samsung leads from ebay, they are good copies, a bit annoyed they wasn't genuine as they even listed them with the Samsung MPN. Ordered some genuine xiaomi ones from gearbest for arond £1.50.

Have you seen any Type C spring/roll up versions? I've got 2 of those from PL, I use away from home to charge my phone & headphones?
Thank you.

Thanks, but the charger is only a basic 5V 1A one, so a 'faster' cable is not going to make a difference.

Then you upgrade both. Usb c power delivery chargers for phones are not very expensive either.

Yes, if I get a faster charger in the future I'll definitely make sure to buy a fast cable as well. The present pair is only for visiting friends with iPhones who sometimes forget to carry their chargers & need access to one for a little while, when running low. Having read some of the comments above, I'm hoping my pair doesn't damage their phones now

Fair enough, Month's ago, is Month's ago though, no?.

People A.) Forget, or B.) Perhaps didn't see it altogether, etc?.

I fall into the latter ...

It's kinda a bit ironic really, Post's that pretty much remain the exact same from one Year to the next (in a literal continuous fashion, etc), like Pharmacy4U with cheap hay fever medication, and/or every other 'outlet' out there (for pretty much similar money too), get figuratively regurgitated on here on a regular?!.

(Like it was literally going out of fashion, or whatever?). :-(

Lol.

From (give or take a Week, or two), March-August/September kind of time (without fail right? - Year in, Year out).

With that much of an excessive 'reminder', who the hell at all is able to even forget that?, or ... lol.

But this thing (rather), that's traditionally (literally), never been at anyyyy Pound Shop's for an indefinite period of time - by anyyyyyy stretch of the imagination (or anywhere else, for that matter - be it for only £1, or less even?), rather has the 'windows of time' (on here), extended to it for 3 Month's+ instead?.

And in the interim of all that, no one literally/perhaps saw fit to perhaps reiterate again none? (before now that is?).

I still fail to understand the logic in that ... (sorry).

Whether the product is good, and/or wotless is besides the point, it's about giving the figurative 'head's up', throwing caution to the wind, and allowing us all 'headway' to figure out for ourselves 'whats what'? (so to speak?, lol).

That's how I see it anyway ... :-)

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong?, lol.

Not sure they make them, decent ones anyway. To do with heat/current etc. maybe better sticking to shorter ones if you want high current.
This one says 5amp
amazon.co.uk/USB…389

Certainly don't be tempted with a cheap long cable...
