Been waiting for this to go down for a long time! Being a total beginner at lifting myself, I think it looks like a good starter set!
Use code 'weight20' (it still works!) to bring it down to this price for collection or £19.94 if you want it delivered. They do Saturday delivery for the same price too which could be helpful to some

Even if you're a beginner I'd strongly suggest you still go for the cast iron stuff!

how do you add the code if you want to collect

You have to go through the paying process until you get to the payment stage I think and then it has a box for promotional codes

Is that not only for home delivery as collection i think is only by reserving and paying in store

Code still works but only as it should for that equipment

I keep looking for something to spend my £10 voucher on, but you can't combine a voucher with a code, damnit!!

This is a fair comment. Tbh I was looking for something temporary to get the ball rolling and then when I get more into it and feel comfortable with technique, and feel like I wouldn't embarrass myself, the plan is to join a gym. But shh I didnt say that...no jinxing

Havent voted either way. If you are serious and are using them for muscle gain then you will soon require more and this set just wont do .It wont even get you started at 25kgs. Its actually only 22.5 kgs disc weight. If you can invest in Iron discs, they take up less space so more can be fitted and they will resell better should you need to.

I think there is another option where instead of just reserving the item, you buy it to collect. In the store collection page it should have a 'reserve now' and a 'pay now' page split. You'd have to go for the 'pay now' if you wanted to add the code

this would be a great present for a small child.

Thanks but there is no option you only either reserve or delivery

you'll be disappointed . don't buy these at any price. as EDDYW said buy the metal ones instead

Better to get this 35kg cast set for £35 delivered.

Not a bad find

Normal price £1 for 1 kg. Very good price. A just haven`t space in flat

Train 3 to 4 times a week, add a little every week and you could be lifting double in 6 months.

Do either of the sets mentioned come with a stand? I have one set of dumbbells at home with no stand and they make bad marks on the carpets. I don't really want to have to dismantle and reassemble them all the time to avoid this.

Sorry, but if you train 3-4 times a week (let say 45 min sessions) you will lift 50kg in 7 days

you are assuming that everyones base strength is the same
if they couldn't lift 25kg they are not gonna lift 50kg in 7 days!

doesn't look like this set is good for buying more weights and adding to them
weight of all bars and collars is only 3kg so must be thin hollow stuff surely?

You dont want much for your money. You could either buy a stand but a cheaper alternative are floor guards.

If you are beginner then just don't waste money, go and complete this
hundredpushups.com/ and then start spending money on weights or gym.

Definitely worth £15.99 for home workouts/starting off

If you want a starter set at the minimum go for the 50kg set.

People will curl etc. with this set though, so 50kg is a bit much unless you're on a bench as a beginner.

Dont talk rubbish. A person who who cant even lift 25kgs isnt going to lift 50kgs in 7 days. Yes it can be a lot sooner than 6 months but it a realistic goal for someone with less capabilities.

for basic worm ups this is ideal or for a beginner.

Good point.I was thinking from a beginners POV where you get started with all the compound exercises.

Your not gonna double the weight in 7 days but as a someone who has never lifted before with regular training and the newbie gains it can be achieved within 3-4 months.

That's great news, working on those time scales I should be lifting about 400kg by the end of the week, and by the end of the month I should easily make worlds strongest man

Lee Parsons lifts big

Go to the gym. If you're serious about starting training, then you'll end up there eventually anyway, unless you've got a huge garage you can fit a squat rack in.

You've taken that out of Context. Its based on 25kgs not 100+ kgs.

True, but great for muscle toning. Just depends what you need / what your body shape is.
