G/F has converted to Android and has a Glut of Apple Docks about the place. She has been trying to buy something similar for her Samsung S4.

This makes the Apple docks able to receive bluetooth from her Android phone, and now she can keep all the docks.

UPDATE Thought I had an incompatible device on the dock attached to my Yamaha AV Receiver. On the back of the dock was a slider switch "A or B" flipped the switch, and it worked. It was also very good quality IMO, as this is my AV Receiver for all things media in the front room. This was a major plus for me, as I just assumed this would not work.

Missed that - Price adjusted - Thanks

Still a tenner off delivered though.

Oh and the price of a new dock

Thats a great idea, seeing as 99% of the docks on the high street are for crapple.

Upvote as these are a bargain, but they do have quite a prominent low level hum on standby or during quiet passages (Gear4 bedside radio)

nice

Ooh, now I can put a use to the previously useless dock on my stereo (and my daughters).
Thanks, voted hot.

are these powered by the dock or battery powered

I use my android mobile on an Ipod dock using a 3mm to 3mm line in cable.
Cost 99p.

We thought about using a jack plug and dock.

But you can't beat sitting on the sofa, phone in hand, no leads to trip over, whilst playing/selecting your music.

Actually a good question. The Apple dock must be capable of charging an Apple Phone - as nearly all of them do with a very few "First Generation" exceptions. Massive list of compatible docks listed on the site - with an offer of help if your dock is not listed.

Alot cheaper on ebay.

Is it compatible with Samsung Tab2 10.1

Cheers, picked one up for my Sounddock, not from here ebay £6.50 still voted hot though

Sorry, cold from me. Got one a few weeks ago and has to send it back as my dock was not compatible with it. There was a fairly big list of non-compatible docks on the site, mine wasn't on it. Be warned if you plan to use it at night, there is no way to turn off the led.

I assume you got a full refund etc. Always hard to get such items to work with the restricted world of Apple. I think they have improved the list of what is and is not compatible. You can always email them to check too.

If all fails get one and try it - if it fails send it back for a full refund - or sell it on Ebay (_;)

As for the Bright LED - I have to agree - So many items have these now. I find a little bit of black/white/etc insulation tape - eliminates the illumination

Well, at this price perhaps you should pop the cable in the drawer and splash out in a solution that brings you into the wireless era.

I got this one from Amazon for £8.99 (free p&p) and I'd be certain it's exactly the same device, just different branding (my one is just plain black, with nothing printed on it)

It does the job, but certainly has issues - you can read my review here:

amazon.co.uk/rev…ag=

The main points of note are that dock compatibility can vary greatly, Android 4.2.2 can be a bit flaky with audio, so don't blame the widget, the light is very annoying in a dark room, and it doesn't seem to work from battery powered docks (it only works when the dock is actively trying to charge an ipod - my logitech docks only charge the connected device when plugged in, not when running on their internal battery.)

Especially if you have kids/cats that either:

Think any thing strung across the room is a skipping rope oO

Is an unseen trip hazard (Dragging ++££ of precious audio kit to destruction)

Has a mouse attached to it and needs to be killed - or at least chewed a bit

Probably to do with the shielding of those particular speakers being poor.

Crikey - yours seems totally awful!

But why do you need a widget to connect?????

Perhaps, but it works, so perhaps not.

You can get these devices directly from Hong Kong/China for around 8 pounds. Great idea, works reasonably well. But I do have an issue with sound quality (average) and standby (not really working, neither sleeping nor waking up).
