Use your Halifax debit & credit card and get 10% cash back at Morrisons

Found 27th Mar 2015
Just logged into my Halifax online account and had the following offer in my account:

Use your Halifax debit & credit card 10% back off at Morrison's.

Add this to the current deals of:

25% off 6 bottles of wine or 4 x 'crates' for £20

Means you can get some decent bottles of wine for less than 3 quid and bargain priced lager/bitter at less than 50p a tin.

So check your account, you may or may not have this as well, but worth a look.

Don't have one myself, but that's a great deal!

Excludes fuel, still a good 10% off most groceries

I received the message below when I logged on, I have a credit card only.

We’re sorry
You need a Halifax current account to use Cashback Extras.

It's specific to the individual account holder; I was only offered 5% off at Morrisons, others may not get anything.

Just checked my Halifax current account....yup 10% for me thanks for the heads up OP

Does anyone know if the 6 bottles / 25% is instore as well? Specifically the small stores.

Thanks

Just checked my online Halifax app no morrisons on mine most probably because I don't shop there, so yes this deal will be only persiffic to certain individuals.. Great 10% off deal though

True. I shop there all the time and never get any kind of offer through Halifax cashback. Yet get offers for Waitrose where i never shop and the nearest one is about an hours drive from me.

Sign in to Online Banking, click Cashback Extras from Your account tools and switch on Cashback Extras

Mine was for Morrissons but that ended at the beginning of March and there are no current offers avaiable for me.
I managed to get my ten pounds cash back though but not all of it has been paid into my account yet, the balance will be paid towards the end of April.

Do you need a certain halifax card to get these offers?

Taken from the 'Get deal' link above:

Cashback Extras is our new service for Online and Mobile Banking current account customers. With it you'll get cashback offers that are based on the places you usually shop.

You just need to activate each offer in Online Banking to earn cashback on your next purchase. Then shop with your Halifax debit card to get cashback paid into your bank account at the end of the next month. It's paid direct, so once you've shopped you don't even have to do anything.

What's more, you can also use your Halifax credit card when you shop, if you have one, and you'll get the cashback paid into your bank account if you're the primary account holder (the person whose name is on the bill). Spending by any additional cardholder will also count towards any cashback for the primary cardholder.

Do these deals still yield on the buy a pint of milk, collect £50 cashback at the till trick?

Yes it does work, I did say in post 11.

Beauty, is there a minimum spend before you're allowed to get £50 cashback?

2 x lots of £50 cash back = a free tenner

Thank you! I've banked with these bar stewards for over 10 years but this is the first I've heard of this scheme. I bought 6 bottles from Morrison's yesterday, guess I may as well do the same thing tomorrow...

You can even buy something for £5, take £45 cashback and still get 10% cashback from Halifax (£5). Do it twice and you can get stuff worth £10 for free

Cold. Would be good if I could get it

Well plenty of other people can get it, and you agree its good but then you vote cold because you can't get it............need i say more?

You can elaborate how this could even be warm for me sure? I aren't voting for what plenty of people can get!

This site is about informing the masses not just YOU.

I expect you vote everything cold?

Such as deals where there's no items for YOU in your nearest store but loads of other people have them on their doorstep

Items that are bargain prices but the sizes don't fit YOU

There's plenty of items available but YOU don't like the colour or style

The list goes on............ Most users on here vote because a deal is good and not purely to suit themselves

Seems better than the Santander cashback deals for obscure candle shops and places I would never shop in.

And I suppose you criticise everyone who doesn't like a deal you post?
Not that I have to justify my voting history but I generally vote cold if I go out of my way to get it and can't.
If I posted a deal advertising flights to Hawaii for £10 I'd likely expect a fair few colds if I didn't advertise it was limited availability

No i don't criticise everyone who doesn't like a deal I post.

Voting cold just because you can't get it = Selfish in my book.

I vote numerous things Hot even when i can't get it myself, especially the Free Cinema Screenings even when there not in my area that way if it gets hot it will be seen by more people therefore more people will manage to get it. At the end of the day people are using their own time to post deals to try and help others...............try posting some yourself.

Your opinion! As is my voting your unclear deal cold. I have better things to do than spend all day looking at deals I would never intend on getting. What gives me the right to vote cold without at least trying to get it and therefore seeing it's both a good price and it exists. In this case I can neither see it's a good price nor prove it exists. Is it so hard to take another persons opinion or to believe there are other people like me that see deals that interest them and vote accordingly as to whether they like what they see?

Original Poster

Ok answer me this:

It’s like me voting a deal Cold to get money back through TCB for Sky Go existing customers, purely because I don't have Sky GO. Plenty of people have Sky GO but just because I don't have it doesn't mean it should be voted cold. Does it?

How is this deal unclear, there is screen shot evidence it exists, other people have stated they have got it or done it, you even said previously it was good............if YOU could get it?

Bored now. Tired of talking to self opinionated people (namely you) who can't see anyone else views and are just wasting my time. It's cold!

I got this a few months ago.

Purchased some champagne that was meant to be on offer (£25 a bottle x 4). Turned out to be full price. Had a refund and still got my £10 cash back.....
