sorted byYup it is better graphically. You can also play GC games and below on the Wii. The reason they are probably recommending the Dreamcast is because the protection on the DC was in the disk and not the console. All the games available have the protection stripped. You can just burn a game and play it without anything. It was only rectified in the last iteration of the console (however I have one and it still plays back ups). It's a shame as it contributed to its down fall (edited)
Yes the wii u can play wii games but not the other way around.

Although a low resolution console it still has good games with plenty of choice and easy to mod. We have regular family games nights playing with the kids who seem to prefer it to their Xbox.
Wouldn’t wii be miles ahead graphically & be cheaper and easier to mod due to large number available?
Better off paying the extra for better graphics and being able to connect via hdmi. U just need motion plus remote and nunchucks if U also wanted to play original Wii games on it.
They took away GameCube controller ports on the V2 to save costs.

Me too but then again it's possibly 6 months cover off them compared to cex 2 years. plus this was always on their white consoles never see black for that price

Wasted time trying to use a SanDisk flash drive as the games drive. Just wouldn't work, flash drives are a bit hit and miss on a Wii apparently. Tried an old usb HDD and that worked perfectly.

Most of the gaming stuff in Cash Converters hasn't been properly checked to see what condition it's in though.
I've been sold disc games so badly scratched, they look like they've used for playing frisbee with a dog.
I do buy from there, but I always check it first. Especially a games console. They've got enough TV's. Might not have many old style TV's though, which you will need with a Wii, unless you source a newer type adapter from eBay.

Most wii are not GameCube compatitable only earlier models ,later models got rid of ports and memory card slots to save money
Scratching my head mate. Managed to install homebrew through the wii internet...but trying to get the wii install the clos so that it can play backups has me stumped. It doesnt seem to read the 2 sd cards I've tried. 8gb and 16gb both fat32 neither does it read the ext hdd through the usb. Just doesnt seem to see them. Have you encountered this?
