iOTA a decent make? Not sure if I should go for this. Will be doing general browsing, videos and word processing (not sure if ram will hold up for that?)
How do you get price down to 111.59

Quite a difference in price for that unfortunately
Does anyone think this would be good for a mature student . I have an 11 inch at the moment but it’s too small.
No reduction for me

it should show up when you get to the final checkout stage
about £150 if you go with the slightly faster 4core pentium version, if it wasn't for the limited storage i'd dip in.
Not sure whether to go with £150 or £199 one? Any suggestions (basic browsing, YouTube videos, Office apps, will have quite a high powered PC near me anyway).
£111 with code or £153 with code

Is the extra 2GB and better processor worth it for an extra £42? Will be doing general browsing and watching videos but will mostly keep it in same house as a powerful computer so not sure if I need the extra power but don't want to call it a "crap slow laptop" if I go cheap! Damn.

I can't find any mention of a m2 port on amazon or on the iota website, so I would have thought it doesn't. However, it looks like a clone of the Linx which does have the port.

So, no idea here :-)

Not for this laptop. Only 32GB / 2GB for Win10 is absolutely hopeless.

Tinkering? You can't install anything because there's no storage space and you can't run anything because there's no memory. This is the spec of a Netbook from 10 years ago.

if you clean up the disk there is plenty of space for updates you can install an ssd card it does basic tasks ok. 2gb is not so much an issue

Oh you have spend another £35-£70 on a SSD to make it useable? I see.

2GB RAM is also a huge issue since it prevents you running such a vast range of software. I wanted to do some very basic editing in Movie Maker or CC.....oh wait, I can't because the laptop runs out of memory and there's no space to save my 3 x 4GB video files from my phone.

I can edit videos on a EZBook 3 Pro - that cost £165. The extra RAM and greater storage makes all the difference.

And no, an SD card doesn't realistically work as an annex to the standard Windows partition as its significantly slower than a SSD particularly in terms of random read/write performance. The bus speed across the SD card interface on this also looks like its USB 2.0 spec so it's going to be bottle necked anyway even with the fastest SD card.

Not when you have to buy a SD card for this for £30, and even then it doesn't improve much.

The hardware specs for this laptop are below the threshold of what's usable in 2018.

what if someone already has sd cards ??

windows 10 runs fine on n3350 and 2gb

change performance settings and turn of visual effects and it works fine.

Win10 "runs" on it but performance is absolutely hideous. It's like using a PC from the 1980s.

This laptop is simply below the hardware spec to use productively.

So you'd say the 4GB version with the better processor for £153 is on/below the productivity scale?

This is a waste of money because you can't run half the available Windows software and what does run is so painfully slow to be unusable. Turn on taskmon for example and look at the CPU when you open 3 tabs simultaneously in Chrome on a media centric heavy javascript page. If you like waiting 2 minutes for the pages to full render, then be my guest for most normal people, that isn't acceptable performance.

This Acer is alot better value than this hamstrung 'not worth an iOTA' laptop:

Well I did manage to get it for £130 as I complained there was no box. So 15% discount. I have 30 days to return it or a year if there's an issue with it (battery or whatever). Have you tried this laptop or are you just going off of specs?

I'm used or owned them all at some point or another - from £100 Cherry Trail Atoms to £2,000 MBPs.
