Not true at all

Just factory reset and flash a new installation of the firmware for that model.

More chance of getting a model with Persistent malware from a new one from the factory

    I think the point they were making is many people that would buy their own router would be quite clued up? I'd say it wouldn't be beyond the majority of people buying a router of this spec to flash firmware.

    I just don't see a need for 6.6 gig wifi when most are lucky to have 1 gig internet

    The only realistic use case I can think of is transferring huge files like VMs across machines regularly .. but thats got to be very few people
