Can this be used with other voip providers, or just skype?

This looks like a standard re-badged Yamamoto phone. I have used two with Sipgate for many years. You may need drivers so it can work with X-Ten or other suitable SIP client. This may require a fair bit of googling as the Yam site disappeared long ago. But I guess I could dig some out if you need ...

Works nicely. Has a feel of the old Nokia 3310 about it.

Would want it to work with sipgate, so it can be done cheers.

Is this wireless/cordless phone i.e. base attached to a computer but the handset is cordless?

Anyone know how long you have to wait for delivery to shop?
Ordered one but do they email you when it is available to pick up?
Thanks

wow this thing is old

Thanks - just bought a couple. I use a phone bought from Sainsburys that was linked to a certain system. Works fine with Voipbuster, despite error message on handset. If you have not seen Voipbuster well worth a try. Sound only - no pictures.

It's interesting that businesses don't seem to offer VOIP contact details at all.

Assuming the picture is correct then it shows model No. 9601A.

So this may give the full spec and user guide:

usr.com/sup…601

If that helps at all.

Just ordered one. Thanks kzee, also Richierea much appreciated

Unless you are calling other Skype users, BT line calls are always cheaper, using third party provider.

UK calls: Skype = 1.4p per minute; BT + 05pence = 0.5p per minute
EU calls: Skype = 1.4p per minute; BT + Dialwise = 0.5p per minute

and the list goes on for every other country world wide. I don't know why ppl use Skype?

I use it when I'm out of the UK to call home. Use Skype out so can call any landline. Mainly from Portugal where I don't have a landline. Much cheaper than a mobile and I'm sure there's an even cheaper option but this works fine.
The call volume is such that saving a 1p a minute isn't worth it.

That would make sense. How do you use Skype without Broadband? (I presume you don't have Broadband in Portugal)

:w00t: It's not the third world! (Well, not most of it!)

BATTERY ????

This thing is hard wired to a usb port, isn't it?

It only works Skype through your computer.

IMHO this is absurdly hot for a not-particularly-cheap headset-replacement. (Which also requires to be hand-held to the ear when in use.)
Sorry, not great functionality, not great price. Cold.

it says out of stock can i still get it from my local store ???

You have to read the whole thread before making such an ill-informed comment, LOL

But can you get something similar for this price or less? (not saying you can't, not really looked) and this model still seems to retail at upto £20. So if people can make use of it then at this price it would be a 'hot' deal.

We have wifi within the grounds just no phone connection within the apartment.
In theory, if I used Skype in as well could run the office sitting next to the pool:w00t:
