Description:

Five criminals, one line up, no coincidence. In the morning aftermath of a violent shoot-out aboard a ship in dock, the police have one of two survivors in the their custody for questioning. 'Verbal' Kint though seems to be protected from on high and has been given immunity form prosecution, though detective Dave Kujan is determined to find out the truth of what happened and keeps Verbal in for questioning. As he interrogates Verbal, a story emerges of five criminals manipulated into doing a job for the legendary criminal Keyser Söze, a criminal like no other, hiding behind his legend, never seen by anyone, no one is sure of his real identity.

Director Bryan Singer and screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie created a modern masterpiece with this intelligent and labyrinth like thriller. A film that twists and turns every few minutes, a film that demands you pay it close attention and then pulls the rug out from under you just as you think you've got it all worked out. Not to forget the absolute perfect ensemble cast, a cast that reads like a modern who's who of outstanding actors. Kevin Spacey plays Verbal, it's hard to think now but previous to this Spacey was known for playing supporting characters and working in the theatre, after the release of this and 'Se7en' he would go on to be one of the biggest actors of the 90s. The rest of the suspects are made up of Stephen Balwdin, edgy and animal like, Gabriel Burn, a big time criminal trying to go straight, Kevin Pollack, a wise guy: and the scene stealing Benicio Del Toro as the incomprehensible Fenster.

Dig deeper into the actors and you'll find a second layer of cool performers, Peter Greene as the fence Redfoot, Giancarlo Esposito as a retro looking FBI agent, Dan Hedaya as a harassed cop and Paul Bartell as the unlucky fair in New York's Finest Taxi Service. Often overlooked due to the focus on the main characters these actors all help to bring the film to life in their small, but vital roles. A truly stylish and gripping film, and one that will leave you asking the question, "Just who is Keyser Söze?"
