I'm no expert but I'm loving Jeff Parker's suite for max brown, probably my album of the year. anything with Shabaka hutchings like sons of kemet, the comet is coming, shabaka and the ancestors. kamasi Washington, the epic, heaven and earth. makaya mckraven stuff like his gil scott heron rework we new again. Also enjoying Jeremy Cunningham the weather up there and the more electronic stuff like Sault V, glass museum reykjavik, gogo penguin. there's afrobeat crossover stuff like kokoroko, and older stuff by hugh masekela and Tony Allen or their duet album. There's a lot out there!
Only really started a couple years back after catching Sons of Kemet live at Primavera Sound.
