Those are extremely popular in Poland now due to some ACTA protest.

Understandable, after all we have all seen your missus.

are these good quality masks or cheap plastic ones that cracks easily?

A Great price for a mask to protest in!!!

You sure showed those capitaists.

any serious anti -capitalists should buy a few hundred of these. take them to the protests and sell them for £10 each - can make a mint

Voted hot because of its current affiliation.

People who use this mask do not protest capitalism.

If you think we have capitalism at the moment, you're living in a dreamworld.

I hate people always reporting on these protests as 'anti-capitalism'. Most protesters don't seem to have issue with the core basics of capitalism, as evidenced by the fact they are walking around with the latest iPhone.

Most of the time it is more about corporate greed / big business influence over government, and increasing legislation moving us towards a big brother society.

Really recommend people watch the film!

I am confused as to the build quality of these, are they made from the cheap thin plastic on normal 99p masks for kids or are they made sturdier?

There is another "deluxe" version on the same site for £31.49, I am wondering if this is worth the £5.99

MI5 probably know who sell them and who buys them online

Paul Staines is not the creator of V for Vendetta. You inserted that into the "quote" yourself to suit your agenda. Nice one.

Alan Moore created V and David Lloyd created the mask. David Lloyd is very happy for the mask to be used in this way.

Not really, Warner Brothers and DC own this image and all merch rights. WB are one of the biggest supporters of SOPA/ACTA/PIPA

Print one off the internet, don't give them your money.

Living in a paranoid world, not a chance they would care who brought these.

The people of concern don't buy masks, they by bomb making materials.

Paul Staines isn't the creator of V for Vendetta? It doesn't even say that in the BBC link. It was David Lloyd and Alan Moore. (edit as shakeyjake66 said)

These masks are about as revolutionary as a Che Guevara t-shirt.

Rich Johnston (on current use of the Guy Fawkes masks): "It's not a symbol of passive resistance but a symbol of active terrorism - it's about bringing down a government and a country and that could be quite scary and alienating to some people."

Nice affiliation.......

They're your standard cheap and flimsy mask, £5.99 does seems a bit steep. The deleuxe version is thick plastic.

Regarding the Warner Bros thing, you could probably find a knock-off unlicensed copy somewhere if you're bothered.

I'm with you, this looks like a cheap thin plastic mask that, if it wasn't for the affiliation to the movie, would cost 99p at Halloween in most junk shops...

Seems a bit pricey to me. However, great film (based on a comic book) and in tune with the current Zeitgeist against government corruption/perversion and a lack of real democracy.

We do not have functioning capitalist markets at the moment, there is far too much government interference - with our and our children's money. Proper capitalism would have seen the poorly-run banks go bust, and if necessary their place taken by something less like a casino.

Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran!

Watched a good interview with Alan Moore recently (and one that made sense from Alan for change) about his V character and his view of how it's being used here

I got mine off amazon for 5.60 a few weeks ago. And it was the original thick plastic one so this does seem steep

THIS.

Everyone so far seems to believe that these are in some way anti-capitalist. WE DO NOT HAVE CAPITALISM AT THE MOMENT. Bailouts are socialist policies. When a government spends almost half of all wealth produced in a country, that is NOT a capitalist society.

It wasn't even a Socialist policy. What we have is Crony Capitalism or Corporatism, not pure Capitalism as pure Capitalism would have never allowed any bailouts, and under a Socialist system we would never have been in a position to give out bailouts as the system would of been tighter controlled/regulated.

Original Poster

I believe these are the thinner masks, however the reviews on forbidden planet appear good, just dont remove the foam on the inside of the forehead. Amazon have the same mask for £9.50. £6 for a novelty mask delivered to your door seems a good deal. Cost more than in petrol and parking to go to your local fancy dress shop. Didnt mean to spark a debate on capitalism, ironic on a deals site i think

Please remember to check that all your opinions match with Anonymous', or they will silence you on the web. All in the name of free speech, of course.

Better still get the comic book too , and it was 3.99 in book sale recently when I got a copy

Do you have the link, thnks

Wearing these masks just shows you're an idiot who doesn't know his history.

Fawkes was not an anarchist, he wanted to put a catholic government and king in power. If anything he wanted an even more oppressive government than the one that was in power.
