I've got the v4 of this and have been evaluating it for the last 3-4 weeks. Below are my impressions.

CONS

- Wifi performance from the Intel AC 3165 wireless chip in this is very, very poor. Download speeds are about 30% of my other two laptops. Signal drops out completely if I move to the other side of the house. Random disconnects, drops in speed etc. Other owners have experienced similar problems, whereas others have no problems at all. I think there's a fault with it or there's a quality control problem during manufacturing. Clearly, there are a proportion of these where the Wifi isn't working as it should be.

- Battery life on mine is really quite poor - around 4 to 4.5 hours measured through BatteryBarPro (much more accurate than the Windows 10 battery monitor). There's no way I could take this to work for example without having to take the charger with me as well.

- I initially didn't like the trackpad but having used it for the last 3-4 weeks, I think it's "okay", though no more than that.

- Speakers are rubbish and very tinny. Sound through earphones is fine though.

- Keyboard is disappointing. It's just about usable but no more than that. Keys need a very definite press to register. I can anticipate some of the keys failing at some point in the future, particularly the space bar as you have to press much more towards the centre of the key. Not really the sort of laptop that you want to be using to regularly typing 20,000 word articles....

- N3450 is okay for basic tasks but it maxes at 100% constantly when loading media heavy web pages. Windows feels surprisingly sluggish compared to my i5 laptop. Really would benefit from a faster CPU and subsystem.

- Screen would benefit from a higher contrast ratio. It's sharp but there's loss of detail in black scenes of films as the contrast ratio isn't quite high enough. Fine for office work though and internet etc, just not ideal for films where there's alot of black or dark areas.

- in built microphone isn't very sensitive. You have to point your head 2ft from the microphone for Cortana, Skype etc!! You need to plug in earphones with mic for that...

- MeiMengMeng.Win.Clients.exe and other rogues services are loaded on startup which are not native to Windows. Looks like someone has fiddled with the original installation. I ended up disabling it.

PROS

- Very low price for what you're getting. You'll never get a Windows laptop anywhere close to this for £170 in the UK.

- Aluminium build makes the chassis very rigid. Feels pretty durable.

- Laptop is thin and not too heavy.

- IPS 1080p screen is a bonus at this price (though the note the comments about contrast ratio).

- m.2 storage expansion slot is useful as 256GB SSDs can be had for £60 or so.

OVERALL

- Reasonable entry level / basic machine for light users on a tight budget (£170) or anyone wanting a secondary laptop. You won't find anything remotely similar to this in PC World at this price. The two real annoyances for me are the Wifi and keyboard. Everything else is more or less okay.

- Bear in mind that you are buying an entry level laptop, so don't expect it to have the usability or power of a Macbook or XPS13.

- Not really suitable for someone looking for a heavy duty, comprehensive, daily 'workhorse' of a laptop as those usability niggles will become a real pain over time.

- For a sub-£200 laptop, it's okay but if I was shopping for a laptop again, I would probably give this a miss and spend another £100 or so to get the Chuwi Lapbook Air instead or one of the Xiaomi laptops.

Could it be account specific?

Now showing £168
How do I get it for this price?
Does anyone have one who could comment on whether the wifi works at a decent speed and the trackpad on v4 is usable?
They have a large backlog of orders. Ordered mine a week ago and was told 10-15 days before dispatch
Expired price
This link from an old email works but £168 (as of 15/9/17 at 19:00 is up to £193 - I think these email links must only survive a certain amount of clicks at the lower price!):

Got 2 of these machines and completely happy with performance out of the box.
Yeah gearbest is so slow with delivery, expect to wait at least a month. Dealt with them a few times now and experienced the long waiting times. Best way is to order and forget about it

Yup, my order is being shipped out just now. complained and they said the estimated delivery time was mentioned while buying.

Considering that Light in the box is selling the same at £192 and a 7-10 Business Day delivery i still think gearbest is a better option. the £20 pounds saved can help you buy a SSD.

Thanks Picard123 for your review. Not got mine yet and my expectations are fairly low as you can't really expect more for something at this price and spec.

Not sure I would recommend the Chuwi Lapbook Air as its an unknown quantity at the moment? And when you get into and Xiaomi laptop price range (even at import prices) then its a bit more of a risk spending that kind of money and having zero customer service in reality. I think the Jumper ezbook 3 pro has the right balance of 'quality!' while still being cheap enough to take the risk (at the moment). Time will tell!

You need to enable windows update service, follow the steps mentioned here.
Also check Tech Tablets forum, lot of information available there.

Received mine, has Samsung EMMC and Intel Dual Band Wifi ( Really good speeds, not great at catching wifi through walls) really good VFM ( 22 Day wait ) but perfect for a light travel netbook / college laptop.
Non email invite code brings it down to £165. Code is BOOKPRO

Congratulations, it is not a bad Laptop. but do not at any cost let it install windows creator update. also enable windows update service manually and try to uninstall meimengmeng service.
Make a copy of the driver's and do a clean install. From what I remember there were about 10 items that needed to be updated manually, mostly intel controller things, all the other drivers update . Just had to pick each one and direct it to the backed up driver folder.
