Just so people are aware bona china is made of actual animal bone

Got a couple of these the other day in Penge so they are national, but I went back the next day and they'd all gone. They're very nice, just like the ones in John Lewis.

I didn't know! I thought that the 'bone' just meant something about the type or fineness of the China!

Stick that in your pipe

if you stick bone china up to a light with your hand over the bottom of the fine bone china it is practically see thro see the shape of your fingers this doesn't work with just china cup they are very thick and cant see light thro the base not too deer good bargain cheers me deers thank you

Only you can do that

None in Cannock. Came away with a lot of tat that I don't need. Ah well.

The V & A mugs are good quality. Thanks OP.

I bought one of these about three years ago for about £5-£6 because I loved the design. Didn't realise that it was made from animal bone. It is a lovely mug, though.

Bone ash is a white material produced by the calcination of bones; the cleaned bones are heated to about 1000°C, so the bones become sterilised, then the sterilized bone is ground with water into fine particles which can be used as a raw material for bone china.

As elusive as flame deers but lucky I may be? A true gem af a find.:)

I received a pair of V&A bone china mugs as a present a couple of years ago - very good quality and still going strong after everyday and dishwasher abuse.

Hopefully will find some of these when I can get to a store on Tuesday.

Their returns policy stinks guys. So if u have any issues with your products beware. Just thought you should know. Check purchases carefully...and you can only return it to the store you purchased it from.

Quite a few in Newcastle under Lyme store today
