you're welcome it's delicious isn't it, I love it with caramelised onion chutney!

Have had this own brand cheese before and it was the worst cheese I have tried. However it wasn't this particular variety so maybe this one is better?

@jase99,I wish I could make my post as irrelevant as yours but I will not be able to.
Please remember that when you write something then others will likely read it, ok.
Thanks.

So which " brand " of cheese is better then?

Oh and would this be the same cheese that won the " Grocer " Gold Award?

lidl.co.uk/en/…600

The silver/grey pack of vintage is lovely, but it has to be lumpy bumpy to get the best taste, and it's not great for slicing. If the cheese feels smooth then it's better for cutting but doesn't taste as nice. If you see anybody in Swansea store groping the cheese, it's probably me!!

Checked in my local Lidl tonight - none on the shelves

If it's the one I'm thinking of, It's Wyke farms extra mature in a different packet, normally 2 for £5 in other supermarkets.

HEAT

Best of that range.Usually £2.29 for 400g at b/pool lidl.

Like i said i have tried the other varieties of Valley Spire and they have been rubbish. I didn't say this one was rubbish i was making a general comment regarding the Valley Spire cheese and if you read my comment i said however this one might be better.

Although the british supermarkets win a lot more awards for cheese. realfood.tesco.com/blo…tml

I have been buying this for about a year now.... only the other day I had to buy pilgrims choice as wasn't near Lidl.... OMG.... it was sooooo bad I actually sent them an email telling them there must have been something wrong with it. Lidl all the way.
