I really wish my wife would allow me to buy one of these again. I used to LOVE real chips in one just like this.

Sadly, the smell, plus the fact she'd inevitably want real chips far too regularly again & put weight on means it's the one thing she won't give in on. She even let me have a new projector & huge new screen having originally shanghai'd it, but will not budge on this.

First world problems!

Great price though, have some heat!

easier to use a wok. I make yummy pokora and real chips in a wok.

Yes - I use mine to make pakora and southern fried wings if I am making a large amount.
The thermometer makes it easier to check you have the right heat for crispness

Large amounts of food in these fryers makes the Temp drop rapidly & so can spoil foods.
Best done in small batches.
I have one that looks very similar to this, maybe even the same, and it works fine for me. I'd say this is a great price.
how much lard do these hold?
Makes your house smell
it's tempting to buy a new one at this price rather then clean the one I've got again! A right pain to clean!
Minimum 1.9litres of oil???
I usually use half a litre when frying in a pot

It seems you are desitined to never get another fryer so look at this way though, use it to your advantage for compromise each time she refuses you...no fryer new car, no fryer new games console, no fryer more sex, no fryer new speakers....your doing it for her remind her......win win

Surprisingly there's still loads of people who use old fashioned chip pans. I regularly read about chip pan fires. I can't understand why when you can pick one of these up for £10, much safer. Don't use either myself, but if I did there's no way I'd allow an old fashioned chip pan in the house.
Great thanks, just reserved.
I got one of these a few years ago and although very small it is a super little product and at this price you can't go wrong. Highly recommended.
Had one of these for a while but changed to a slightly more expensive model a month ago and it's so much better. I use it for chips, doughnuts, fried chicken, samosa, etc.

Good for the price.
I have a very similar one from Argos. Does the job. Cleaning is fine, you just lift out the element and rinse it under the tap and wipe over, then wash the pan in very hot water, then wipe over the unit with a soapy cloth. I tend to use it on the hob surface under an extractor fan, otherwise it would stink out the kitchen. Excellent for doing things like fishfingers, nuggets, crispy fries etc. I use Crisp n Dry (rapeseed oil) so it's a little healthier and tastes nice, it losts longer too because the smoke point is higher.

well that's how i like them!
how have these not been banned yet? - we harp on about not advertising junk foods and reducing sugars and fats in foods yet still sell one of the worst cooking implements for lazy people.
Never owned one of these. Will give it a punt at this price. Cheers!
