Hi, was looking for some good quality engine oil that met BMW LL04 spec. came across this on amazon sold by euro car parts for 4 litres . The thing is its £43.80 on the euro car parts website and similar price from Opie oils. almost half price and much cheaper than rrp.

0w50 still at rrp. Not been reduced. they do have 50% sale on certain items on the euro car parts website which may be of interest to you.

Checked out the entry on Amazon. Hilarious.
No mention of maufacturer approcvals (I need VW 507) but, apparently, this oil does offer:
Fuel efficiency class A
Wet grip class A
External rolling noise class 1

Which makes one wonder whether these guys actually have a clue.

Then I saw this: amazon.co.uk/Val…NPK, which offers the above, plus it also says:
Batteries: Lithium ion batteries required.

I did a bit more trawling and finished up with this: amazon.co.uk/Cas…TQ4
Somehow, according to this entry, 4 litres of slippery stuff weighs in at a featherweight 998 or 1000g, depending which part of the page you read. (but it does also say the shipping weight is 3.8kg, so it must be a really heavy bottle).

National tyres do An oil and filter change for £28.50

My car needs 6.5 litres of oil and was quoted £50 from national. the guy I spoke to didn't have clue about the oil spec as they have stopped doing castrol edge and was reluctant to take my car on so didn't want to risk it with them.

really good price but also check out quantum oil - same price but 5l delivered fleabay

Not for fully synthetic they don't.

Could i use this in an 06 corolla?

Quite expensive still for only 4 liters, many cars nowadays need more.
5/40 fully synthetic oil with the below specs GBP 17.75 including postage, now that's a deal !!

• VW: 505.01 • Renault RN 0700, RN 0710
• ACEA: A3/B3-04, B4-04, C3-10
• API: SN/CF
• BMW: LL-04 • MB: 229.31 229.51
• Porsche • GM Dexos 2

As most of us don't drive high performance cars, don't pull tons of weights, fly down the motorway at 100 mph, drive 30K (or more) miles per year, any CORRECT SPEC engine oil will do. 90% of the brands in the world are made by the same old big boy oil companies, but most are not marketed and are therefor a lot cheaper than Mobil, Magnatec, etc. etc. etc. etc. The difference in judging these oils is between our ears. Our run of the mill cars don't need anything out of fancy looking, highly marketed bottle, just the correct spec. But of course nothing beats satisfying your own thoughts and ego.

What oil?.......... where from? can you provide a link ?

Please be aware it's a low SAPS (ash) oil, when your car has a DPF it's OK, otherwise, not such a good idea people say

amazon.co.uk/LIT…tek

This is OK for non DPF cars, slightly lesser spec SL, not latest SN, but will do many engines.

amazon.co.uk/dp/…oil

These oils are going in our Scenic and Xsara Picasso.
