Played this for 20 minutes on PS Now. Can anyone tell me if it gets better ?

(I know 20 minutes is far too quick to judge a game but I just felt it was going to be a pain of a game)

Everything is about the story and atmosphere, so if you're not into it, I can't see it improving for you.

Took me 29 hours to complete one playthrough on PC, but I enjoyed choosing which of the quest giving NPCs I'd kill in order to level up. You can refrain from feeding for the story, and to make combat tougher, and I remember getting wrecked by lvl 29 enemies when I was about lvl 18, even though I was doing all side quests, so had to kill a few people. And they're not background models, everyone you meet matters to someone else and has their own personality and either a quest, or information on someone else.

If you want an actual 'choices matter' RPG story then it's great, if you want an action RPG then less so, as most of your time is spent investigating. Easily one of the best RPGs I've played though

I had a blast playing it too. The production values are remarkably good - great world design, character design, and the voice acting is excellent (Foyle's War sidekick plays the main character - didn't know he's done loads of game VA). Loved the way they did the NPCs and investigations - lots of surprises and some characters you'll be hard-pressed not to chomp on (the ghoulish landlord is alarmingly real).
