Rolson do one that's available in Asda or Tesco with 72 LEDs (4 x 18) taking 4xAAs.

Its very bright & I keep it in the car as I have an AA/AAA charger - but I have never checked to see how long it runs for on a full charge.

Go for this guys much much better I use them regular. 185 lumens, very compact, even turns into a torch.
Flashaholics sold the same for around £30.000. Mark my words you won't be disappointed

you are right they are not much good. I have one, they just give a glow in your tent rather than enough light to do anything by

Is this better than a campingaz light? Want to get a light for camping but lost on best one to get any advice?

this is a great little lamp, wind up and usb charged so you can charge it up before you go

If you are in/near Glasgow, Crockets on West Nile St have a wind up 12 LED lantern in the window in their sale reduced from £25.50 to £12.

Smaller Maglites also let the lens focus screw off to become "candles".

Even small LED/SMD/cree torches have such a great output now that they could be used to provide enough light.

I've got this lantern, it replaced a similar u bulb one from tesco. Its not a bad light, and the remote is actually very useful.
This doea have a lead acid battery, when it dies charge it asap. after you've used it while away, charge it before it get packed up. The battery will last if you do this, after a while of being dead lead acid batteries can nevwe be charged.
