Vango comfort 7.5cm double self-inflating mattress £49.99 + £4.99 del @ Cross Camping

I have spent since last August bank holiday looking for an alternative to airbeds after another uncomfortable camping weekend. After lots of reviewing I wanted this VANGO double mattress - 7.5cm seemed a good compromise between comfort and pack size. Amazon have it at £72.85 and I couldn't beat £57 on Google shopping; this is the same price most have for the single.

In all that time I have not seen it cheaper and this seems to be on a limited offer. £4.99 delivery (free over £150) seemed reasonable for this great lump.

Hopefully of use to inexperienced/comfort-seeking campers like us

I don't think that's a good deal at all. Far better offers out there.

care to elaborate?
heat from me. good price for it
Can't understand why this has gone cold. Definitely a few quid cheaper than I can find it anywhere else and some places are selling them for £100+. Littlewoods are charging £119!!

Can someone please explain the cold votes? I'm looking at buying one of these or something similar.

Aldi & Lidl sometimes sell self inflating mattress's and they do the job. I paid £29.99 for three 3 years ago & still going great.
After doing a bit of research it seems these are different to airbeds, more comfortable, less roll and they insulate from the cold ground better than an air bed! Thinking about getting one for when we go away in the van!
It's a good deal and anyone who says otherwise:
1) didn't read the word "double". This is a good price for a double sim of any make.
2) likes a ridiculously soft and squidgy airbed to roll around on and hates sleep.
3) didn't read that it's 7.5cm thick and thinks 3cm ones are going to be just as comfortable.

I felt so strong about this I actually registered just to give my 2p worth! My kids use the single version of these and we have an Andes Explora 10cm SIM that we bought direct from Andes for similar money to this. But you won't find any double SIM for less cash.
I did read double & love sleep. I've experienced most & it's all to do with the surface you lay on. Don't suppose you work for a company who sell these?
This is super comfy

Nope. Would like to know what "far better deals are out there" as you suggest. You may have bought one from lidl or aldi years ago and if you did by 3 for £29.99 that are still going great then I'm happy for you and very surprised that you got DOUBLE SIMS for that money. But please let us know what far better deals are out there.

Incidentally, I'm a teacher but thanks for showing an interest in me. What do you do for a living?

I'm still waiting for you to publicly tell all us good people what better deals are out there that you would recommend with all that wonderful experience you've had. I couldn't care less about your log just where i can get some great camping equipment at bargain prices. I've checked my Aldi and it was pants! What should we sleep on sailor?

Kudos to you Jase. Not a bad option, though I don't know the seller, you don't work for them do you?

Plus it's not as thick. Do know about your missus but if I took mine to bed and I was packing almost a full inch less than last time she might start to question a few things!

Cheers, I just ordered one.
So how do these mattress,s work then

They're filled with memory foam and they have a valve. With the valve open, the foam will inflate to its natural state, you then close the valve and you have a fully inflated mattress. To deflate, you open the valve and roll it up to expel the air.
I much prefer sleeping on these than air beds. I have a single, same 7.5cm thickness and really happy with it. as others have said, this is a good price for a double.
Could I buy 2 of the £25 ones from completeoutdoors and put them on top of each other?

All the 10cm ones I have seen are way more expensive.

thanks

Still can't understand why this deal went cold. Thanks OP, it seemed like a good deal to me.
