A solid inflatable tent for a very good price. 6 man with a good size living space.

There are others that are cheaper but the quality isn't as good.

The vango Airbeams are very highly regarded.

Only downside is that the groundsheet is not sewn-in.

A tent without a sewn in groundsheet in 2019!!! I don't think so even at that price, sorry, it's cold here.
Sewn in ground sheet is a must if you end up camping on flat ground and it pours it down with rain the water will be ankle deep inside your tent.

I believe it is a groundsheet that lifts up at the edges so at least it doesn't lay flat and let water etc in. So it should be ok.

For this price though it is a good tent. I bet you wont find a tent with this quality for a price similar.

I agree, but my brother had problems a few years back on a Caravan Club site where they insisted on non-sewn in groundsheets... suppose you get what you ask for on a CC site

I believe it lifts up and attaches to the tent inner so should get around this issue.

Soss but I stick with my original comments/ assessment. I'm on my fourth Outwell and they've all had sewn in groundsheets.

I've got an outeell at the moment, I've had it 5 years and its solid. (It's the Glendale 5).

But I'm upgrading soon and will be making the jump to vango. (We want to go for an inflatable tent).)

If you read reviews and talk to owners they say the airbeam technology is way better than the equivalent outwell air poles.

I bought the Outwell Holidaymaker 500 as a package: tent, footprint and carpet in October last year for £570.
I really would bother with an inflatable.......gimmick wise they are fab but in practice there aren't any clear advantages over poles.

Still ......good price and for that reason it's heat all around.
I have the Vango inflatable 500SC. Solid. Groundsheet wasn’t an issue in some bad weather. Some have added Velcro to groundsheet to close all gaps

So...over double the price of this with the less reliable air beams?

Beg to differ. I can put the inflatable tent up by myself in under 20 minutes. Can't do that with a tent with poles. Also way more sturdy than I expected.
£342 now. Any good deals on a quality tent for 2 people?

Differing view accepted.
Anyone care to recommend a tent that is big enough for a family of 4 (was thinking 6 man) with a reasonable sized living space? It's only gonna be used a few times a year but want something good quality that will last for years. Advice appreciated.

Never liked camping. It’s too in tents for me.

I'd go for one rated for 2 more people than you need. So for 4, get a 6 man. Plus extra porch extension helps for cooking and sitting out but under cover.

We have a outwell Glendale 5. Its ideal for a small family. We have had it 5 years and it's never let us down.
Plenty of living space and separate porch area for cooking.
I think its discontinued but you might be able to get one ex-display or used?

I got mine with voucher codes and carpet etc for £490. Great tent although the pump I have is poor. Outwell have a new pump this year but it costs £55!

Yes it is a great tent. The pump that was delivered with the tent had no thread in the pump handle. Fortunately we did a dummy run before our first camping. The seller got Outwell to replace it FOC.

My first pump had the same issue and was replaced. Outwell support is terrible. Their new pump looks much better but £55 is a bit steep.

It is a bit steep. I searched and found a company selling them for £19.98 plus £6.50 P&P, can't make my mind up whether to buy one: obicampingandleisure.co.uk/out…mp/

That’s seems to be the pump. It is £55 on outwell site. Guessing it is worth buying as the one they supply is not great. Actually the connections are poor.

I'm camping again this weekend. Second time with the air beam tent and what do you know, the second pump has let me down, good job I bought a spare. I've ordered the new pump.
