There is a 20% web discount applied at checkout which takes the price from £34.99 to £27.99.

You can collect in-store (free) or get free delivery when you spend over £30 (looks like virtually every other camping-related item they sell is also eligible for the 20% web discount!).

Not sure when this 20% 'extra' discount deal expires - can't seem to find it on their site. No doubt, someone will find it!

Review from UKCampsite pretty much sums it up:-
"I was curious to see if this tent was a viable tent at this low price. Firstly it has a reputable name, Vango, who have never let me down in the past.

Straight out of the box I could tell the Soul was made out of good polyester and the seams are well taped. The poles are fibreglass, not aluminium, but the tent still weighs just under 2.0 kgs,on my scales - less than many expensive 2 person tunnel tents.

It is put up inner first, but is so quick to slot in the two poles and tie the outer on, in a shower it does not matter too much. The outer streched over the top makes for an extremely stable and tent, making the skeleton rigid, once the guys are in place. The tent does not move much, even in a strong breeze.

The downsides are few. There is front venting ,but an extra vent in the rear would be better. The porch is small for two, however it is adequate for one person. When raining the door must be kept partially closed, or water will get in the tent, but I could name many tents like this.

Room wise, as can be seen from a photo, two thermarests will fit in and my 5 ft 8 ins frame can sit up in it.

Yes two people CAN sleep in it. One is better.

This tent is much more than a cheap starter tent. It will give anyone starting backpacking a real feel for the joy of the trail without breaking their wallet. Well done Vango. This tent is sold everywhere, so you might get it cheaper. Highly recommended."

Specs and more details available at the Vango site - vango.co.uk/adv…tml.

Usually sells for c£35-£45 so a decent saving if you're in the market for a decent quality starter tent that isn't a throwaway pop-up or poor quality equivalent and that won't cost double the money and more.

First deal posted - just wanted to give some love back to the many many posts and people who've helped me out.

EDIT: It might(should?) be possible to get Go Outdoors to do their Price Guarantee on this whereby they 'promise' to beat any price by 10%. If this can be done, it'd take the price down to £25.19 (£27.99 less 10%)

Good deal..... Heat.

Am I right in thinking that go outdoors will match and beat this by 10%?

Excellent price for an excellent tent.

I used to own one, but found the lack of porch flooring to be a pain (I need every square cm to store helmets, tankbag etc), so I bought an Apha 250, which is pretty much the same, but with a floored porch.

Personally, I'm a huge Vangofan. and as this is a great price, you've got heat from me

Not that familiar with the Vango Alpha 250. Isn't it basically a dome, rather than a tunnel tent and quite a bit more expensive (cheapest I could see was c£40)? Having said that, nice tent..;)

I take your point about the floored porch area. That, together with the lack of a rear vent, are this tent's 2 weaknesses IMHO. But frankly, for the money it's still something of a bargain I'd say. Good make, good quality, good tent despite its flaws (which every tent has!).

If anyone can confirm a further 10% off at Go Outdoors on this deal, please do post and I'll amend the OP accordingly to make sure everyone can see and knows about it.

Cheers
