It's sort of dual purpose I guess, but I wouldn't buy this if I only shot video, you'd be better off with a fluid head for that. Personally I think it'd be perfect for photography.

Looks to be more sturdy and probably more precise than a ball head to me, unless it's a VERY pricey ball head.
I soooo don't need a tripod, but my mouse is currently hovering over the 'buy' button

still hoovering with 5 left Im tempted but already have a benro that I hate prefer the clips on the legs to this twist option on my old tripod
