Hi stunno,
I'm guessing that's a typo and you mean Goggles4u?
I've added that as the merchant (and added info to thread title). If I am wrong can you hit report and let us know? Thanks.

Maybe you should get glasses.

Hmmm... I didn't use paypal because it wouldn't accept the code. The bill came to $49.98, confirmed in email (paid by American Express card- they do their own conversion, at, I believe, a better rate than paypal). The standard shipping charge of $4.99 was the only one offered at checkout.

Do you know how much the custom charge will be?

You need to input the code first and choose Paypal on the next screen as the payment option.

No custom charges (no duty or VAT).

The options were not presented in that order.

My wife now realises that she had a pair from this site last June. Very happy with her glasses and there was also no customs charge on top. The code Progressives, does the OP (Stunno) know if there is an expiry date to use this up by?

Link takes me to UK website - prices in £?

Is it advisable to order varifocals on-line? Any time I had my lenses replaced, the store carried out very careful measurements and alignment.

The only "measurements and alignment" for mine was P.D. Pupillary Distance, (effectively the distance between your eyes) which was done with nothing more technical than a ruler!

Yes but there's a vertical alignment too.

If there was, it was a guess as nothing was used to measure it.

Frankly, varifocals have been a disappointment to me, the middle area is in the right place, but is simply not big enough it's about 20% of the width it would need to be! It was intended to be the right distance for reading music, but in practice it is simply too narrow, like slit; and results in neck ache,as I bob up and down to get things in focus - so I use cheap reading glasses instead, move the stand closer and never look at the conductor directly but use peripheral vision only!

Can't see that I will be getting varifocals again even after all the effort of getting used to them, and it IS an effort, bifocals suited me better for everyday use too, after the not inconsiderable cost of varifocals, supposed to solve a problem, but I take them off, and a 2 quid pair from Lidl does the job better!
