These are all used?

Awesome find, these lenovo have h proper trackpads with buttons opposed to buttons which are under the pad. These i7s seem highly rated too for speed. Hoping with Amazon that if there's a problem well be ok. Best I've seen under £750 tbh

this is well worth it

let me guess with fullHD content?

Not bad but 1366 x 768

Whats the return policy on any of these? If condition is worse than expected or any issues etc.? I'm very tempted with one.

I don't think the 2 with 'dedicated' graphics cards are worth even bothering to look at as the cards are barely faster than the ones on the CPU.

These are great value (voted hot) and similar in spec to a Dell Outlet one I went for the other day for a similar price before then seeing the new Dell Inspiron 15 7548 laptops also pop up on Dell outlet. I managed to get a Dell Inspiron 15 7548 with latest i7-5500U CPU, 4 GB DDR3 AMD Radeon R7 M270 Graphics, 16GB Ram, 4k screen, 4-Cell 58 WHr battery for £560 delivered and justified the extra £200 over these laptops via the future proofing the Inspiron 15 7548 laptop specs gave me :-) Can't wait for it to arrive and fire up some virtual machines on it.

that's a good price for a laptop however for VMs/lab you better to have a smaller/similar specs desktop with decent amount of memory and SSD most importantly ( even better 2 SSD in raid0 ). 4k screen in my eyes is a wrong feature on a laptop as power consumption is huge and not necessary, not to mention you need to scale up your fonts and windows sizes what many application don't handle correctly.

edit: just compared my desktop CPU with this mobile CPU, I have picked up a lenovo k430 few months back with i7 3770, 16gb memory for 450

I needed a laptop not a desktop as I move between offices (I have an older i7 920 desktop already in 1 location) and that Dell one I got has 16GB Ram for VMs and I can also swap the 1TB 5400 drive it comes with for a SSD if that is an issue / bottlekneck.

Regardless of my / your specific usage though these are Hot Deals but I was agreeing with biggary66613 that for not much more you can now get 4K based laptops which future proof you and personally think any laptops that come with 1366 x 778 in 2015 should be avoided if you want to do anything serious and you have an eye on the future.

if you move a lot I agree you need a laptop, but there is no reason for 4k displays for various reasons:
1. power consumption
2. added load for cpu and gfx card to display content
3. increase price and possible repair costs in the future
4. you cannot tell the difference between 4k and fullhd in 15" screen size
5. money will be better spent on a quality fullhd screen over 4k

I partially agree with the resolution should be higher than hd, and that's why hdmi is for. I do not under any circumstances recommend anybody to work on laptop screen on or under 15" for all the time. I'm using 2x24" in the office and 2x24(1080p)+1x32"(1440p) at home connected to my laptop - which only has a 14" fullhd screen. The spare money will be better spent on a reasonably sized screen over a 4k laptop screen.

for more than 2-3 VMs running simultaneously I would highly recommend at least one ssd ( curical mx or samsung evo/pro series, depends on your budget ) not to mention how much performance boost will give to your windows

ps: please don't get my message wrong, I'm passionate on technology within the reasonable limits and working in IT for over 10 years

Yeah I need to move between locations at the moment hence the laptop requirement but I did endless research over the last few weeks and almost went for a similar deal as those posted like I say but the 4k screen, extra 8Gb ram, dedicated graphics and newer latest generation i7 processor for just under £200 more was worth it for me personally. I will also be hooking the laptop up to other screens via HDMI and might even run the laptop at lower than 4k when doing so don't agree with your 4k reasons for my particular needs but I don't want to hijack this thread further so will leave it there :-)

Btw Lenovo in USA are / were doing some deals at about 50% off so hopefully for those looking for laptops like these it might be worth checking their UK site regularly too over the next few weeks as the Lenovo Outlet also has some good deals at the moment too.

ordered one hopefully it will be ok

Are these good enough for gaming?

Wow. Everyone here saying 4k is useless on a 15"have you even tried a 4k screen on a laptop? I have the yoga pro 2 and although there is not much 4k video content, photos look incredible. You CAN tell the difference. It's immediately obvious and my laptop has a 13" screen.

My note 3 records in 4k so I can watch thatose videos in their full quality. Plus I use illustrator a lot in my spare time and the sharpness of the screen is incredible.

A lot of people were saying about 1080p 5 years ago is being repeated again. Try it for yourselves before making up your mind

4k is pointless on a laptop, as it is on a mobile - but the one place you *do* need a laptop is for software development for the 4k screen. (Might need to read that twice to understand what I meant).

I am in the market for a 4k, but the price differential is too much and i want a an i7-47xx series (4 cores + h/t).

And 32GB RAM will be nice. (I need 31GB of it just for firefox :-) )

I waited patiently for a 1080p laptop and I'm happy I did, far superior experience

Really sorry, hit cold by mistake..
Hot Deal..!

Not if you're sat 2ft from the screen.

Fire up Photoshop, connect a FHD screen, then drag a photo between the two displays. You'll soon change your mind

I completely agree. I've edited a lot of photos on a FHD display but viewing them on a 4K display on my 15" Inspiron is just breathtaking for some of the images. There really is a phenomenal difference.

Is nobody going to mention the 1 star rating from an unsatisfied customer on Amazon??
Embedded spyware from Lenovo.

Pretty serious, if true.
For those who missed it...

Now for the bad bit, it was sent with the superfish spyware embedded into the system meaning that all my bank details can be seen by others logging remotely according to articles published by MSN and Microsoft, had I not been surfing today on the internet I may well have missed this warning, I have just uninstalled it, but the worrying bit is that I may have to wipe the machine to be totally safe.
My question is why Lenovo do you firstly not contact me and warn me as a customer of these potential dangers as I have registered the lap top and then why do you think you have the right to install software that according to all I can find on the subject allows others to spy on me and my sensitive data effectively gaining access to my really sensitive personal data. Lenovo I note play it down which is totally at odds with others findings my final thoughts are Lenovo you should be ashamed of yourselves. I expect that this will potentially affect sales as why would you buy a lap top that can spy on you. I give it on this basis a 1 star rating

Lenovo would not contact you as Lenovo are not selling it, Amazon are, hence why you only get a 30 day guarantee!

I dont do graphics editing. So, what actually happens? Big -> teeny, or Big->fuzzy?

Prices look good but I've stopped using Amazon Warehouse, simply because the warranty will be only 3 months. Just too risky if it breaks at 4months onwards.

And can someone please tell me the point of the Flex? I can understand the Yoga series, so a flip of the screen gives you a tablet. But the Flex I just don't get.

1366 x 768 is a particularly disgusting resolution, especially on a 15 inch. I'd personally recommend steering clear of any machine with such a screen it can never be changed with any sort of ease....

mine arrived today, the blemish was beside the webcam in the monitor surround, it's a small superficial scratch and certainly worth having for a £200 saving! Thanks OP :-) just trying to figure out how to put my SSD in it now and retain the 8.1 license.

What's that got to do with it?
I copied a quote from the Amazon reviews page, stating that these laptops can come with dangerous spyware already installed.
So, whether Amazon or Lenovo contact you is irrelevant, the problem is they can have this spyware.

Or are you purposely missing the point.

ordered at 12 yesterday but no sign of dispatch so guess im not getting it today

Ordered 1 yesterday morning & received it today. It is in excellent condition but I didn't like the looks. I will be returning it next week after reading spyware stuff..........

I wanted to run a ssd instead of the 1tb so I removed it anyway so won't come into contact with spyware. It is a horrid tactic worth noting tho. I have a screw I've ruined the thread on on one of the brackets in the hdd caddy by the way which I'm annoyed about.

How are these for gaming? Just basic gaming - IE MMOs like WoW and Guild Wars 2. I'd be playing those two, plus Marvel Heroes, Football Manager, other online PC games and some other indie PC games or simple PC games not on PS4.
