Past there best before date? :s
£5.25 delivery?

OH DEAR..

And it doesn't tell you how far out of date they are!
Sorry. Not convinced.

This stuff is dated for a reason...

It is all bad, do not buy!!!

Admit the £5.25 delivery can be a bit steep, probably only worth it if you're ordering other stuff. But they've also got bottles of Vitamin Water on 5 for a £1 so there's bound to be something of interest.

In regards to Best Before dates, you need to click through onto each item to see the dates.

"Best before" dates appear on a wide range of frozen, dried, tinned and other foods. Except in the case of eggs, "best before" dates are about quality, not safety. When the date is passed, it doesn't mean that the food will be harmful, but it might begin to lose its flavour and texture Every year in the UK we throw away 8.3 million tonnes of food and drink, most of which could have been eaten. So think carefully before throwing away food past its "best before’" date.

Some good prices, shame about delivery

absolutely nothing of interest to me for £5.25 delivery for out of date stock!!!! very funny though! Should give you heat for humour! :-)

Do they just buy their stock from supermarkets when its reduced to clear or scour the bins afterwards?

Love the hot peri crisps but have had stale ones before and not worth the discount.

I've bought from them several times, & had good products that keep well beyond the 'best before' date : )

Found these..best before Dec 2012?? best get my wife to eat them before then

Click on to each product and it will give you the date. Normally 3 weeks to 3 months.

I have been buying from this company for several years now and can honestly say that there is nothing wrong with the products that they sell. Packet and tinned foods last for years and this is what I mostly purchase along with items such as jars and bottles, crisps and confectionery. I agree that the delivery cost is quite pricey but you can order up to around 28kg for £5.25 so in effect if you purchase up to this amount then the delivery charge is reasonable.

Dan - the guy who owns this business - is a really nice guy. He has built up the 'approved-foods' empire from a small business unit near to Sheffield to a really successful company. When I lived in Sheffield, I used to go to his warehouse several times a year just to see what he had, and stock up and bits and pieces. He would always offer bigger discounts for going and picking the stuff yourself and used to just chuck things in for free.

If I needed large amounts of junk food, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Approved Foods. His premises are clean and safe and if there was any danger to health he wouldn't be allowed to do what he does.

Remember, there is a different between 'best before' and 'used by' dates.
