OK, I've never tried Jura i'll try it this time

I'm also tempted by the Jura as well, however may hang on for this :

That is a very good deal - usually around the £ 30.00 mark ! (although the superstition is a little bit too peaty for my liking)

In your opinion.... quantity doesnt always reflect quality :thumbsup:

Glenmorangie wins every time for me against the others on the list but;
The best whisky i have tasted has got to be Penderyn Welsh whisky, simply stunning.
Normally around the £30 mark for a 70cl. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.
Google it.

However Glenmo. is a quality malt. Having met Bill Lumsden (brand ambassador and Master Distiller) a few times, he's passionate about making a world class malt whilst maintaining the house style. The latest expressions bottled in all their glory without chill filtering and slightly stronger because of it (46%) are IMHO fantastic for a light highland malt.

Jura is a good malt too, but Co-op et al have often put it on special offer for under £18 a bottle so the Tesco price isn't brilliant!

Expect to see lots of supermarkets with deals on malts now Father's day is round the corner. Worth stocking up whilst you can as cross the range discounts are unlikely to be back again until the run up to Christmas.

That's the beauty of malts, so varied! Personally I don't get Penderyn, but I know people with more refined tastes i.e. Jim Murry, loves it. For me the slight sharpness and short finish ruins it for me, I either like a sweet fruity finish (with a chewy mouth feel) or something spicy / smokey / salty lingering. The Penderyn finish is too short and sharp like bitter oranges. I can usually find more pleasurable whiskies for less money than Penderyn, but to be fair I haven't tried it in a couple of years so older age may have mellowed it a little.

Hotukdeals has driven me to drink!

Tried Jura after deals a few months ago - quite short flavour but complexed not the less.

Glenmorrhangie is similar - not smokey but mellow and lingers on the tastebuds. Had one sip and it was wonderful - alot less harsh than jura and little more smooth

nic83 - I also think that Penderyn is very nice. I had some last weekend (yup, Wetherspoons) and did an online price check the next day. Not the most blinding deal, but I couldn't see any other ones....
