The motorcycle gear at Lidl is back in from 23rd...... good for someone with their first bike who doesn't want to splash out on expensive branded gear. Or for motorcycle commuters.

Jacket & trousers reduced from last year..... also boots, hemet, gloves, tankbag, oversuit, thermals, rucksack, disklock, socks, kidney belt and bike cover.

"splash out on expensive branded gear"
Yep, can be messy

Had some decent stuff last year for the price, boots were good. Cheers OP

Don't buy their helmets, cheap and nasty.

And before anyone starts rattling on about them being BS Approved, they only just conform.

You only get one head, and there's lots of important stuff wedged inside it, so buy the best helmet you can afford.

TBH.... I wouldn't buy the helmet either. You can often get well known name helmets at discounted prices online. As long as you try the model on first at a bikeshop, then order online where its usually cheaper. Fit being the most important thing with a helmet.

Out of the Lidl gear, i think the Cordura jacket is the best buy. Lidl's jackets always get good reviews on the bike forums i use. At £39.99 its a good price.

Agreed , although I would say to try and barter with any bikeshop for a price-match if you don't want to see them all go out of business.

Yeah i usually do, but they rarely give you anything more than 10% discount.
Last year i bought a Shark S500 Air Esprit online for £60..... as they're around £100/£110 in bike shop, they aint gonna discount that much.
The shows are also a place to get huge discounts on lids, like the Carol Nash classic bike show thats on this weekend at the Bath & West showground.

I was lucky enough to pick up my Arai RX-7 GP Haga rep for £400 at Hein Gericke, especially when the RRP is £749:99

This is part true all crash helmets go through the same Tests. The caberg at 90 quid come out better then the BMW system 5 so you don't always get what you pay for, sometImes your paying to put a free helmet on the head of some Motogp, wsb, bsb etc etc, rider every race.

did they have any jackets in this year? seen bits on forums from past couple of years mentioning decent jackets, but only saw boots, helmets, gloves and rainsuits in our local.

They did in my local Lidl, they looked ok as well..... but they only had medium & large, and these seemed really small sizes for a M & L. Reckon i would have needed XXL judging by the sizes.
