Tesco are proper wind up merchants. I walked past Jack Daniels on offer in my local store on Sunday priced at £17, then all of a sudden it £15 but the previous price was £26!!! Ridiculous.

Pay full price tonight at £63 for 3 bottles, not JD. Cannot stand the stuff.

As new customer receive £15 discount code via XX3KPJ, £5.25 via TCB and only pay the price of the product as priced on day of packing plus £3 delivery.

Awesome

In October on holiday in Tenerife I picked up a Litre bottle of Jack for 18 euro's which of course is a great deal. This is almost as good and a very good deal for England, giving heat...

I still don't understand. £63 minus £15 minus £5.25, plus £3 for delivery = £45.75

Where did you get the figure of £28 from?

Kind of bought a bit too many a week ago!!

pay £63 before price change and when they pack youre order later on you pay the £15 each price,so £45-15-5+3=28.
although its too late now.

probably somewhere in 1 store they had 1 dusty old bottle priced at £26 hidden behind the beans.

Order via mysupermarket website and get 10% cashback on various alcohol at all the supermarkets they list, so JD effectively £13.50 at Tesco

Tesco lie all the time.
I was in there at the weekend and they had Russian Standard Vodka 70cl reduced, but label on shelf claimed the original price was higher than the 1l bottle. Can't remember specific prices, but there was no way on earth the 70cl was more expensive than the 1l at any point in time.
I pointed this out quite loudly to my wife, as staff were in ear-shot. Woman stocking the shelves admitted that the labelling/advertising is pretty much made up as no-one ever questions it.

Paid £17 for this yesterday in sainsburys.... i cant believe JD has gotten so expensive that normal price is £27 for a 70cl bottle.

How do you do that - do you need a code of some sort?

No, you join up to mysupermarket and register your paypal details to receive the cashback on qualifying purchases. Search for 70cl JD and next to the bottle it says 10% cashback

It is not "made up", just based on a few rules which can be manipulated to the benefit of the chain. So long as the 70cl bottle was the price mentioned in X number of Tesco stores for X number of weeks, they can claim it was originally that price in all their stores. Consequently, that is why you see high pricing in some Tesco Expresses. It is with the intention of being able to claim that was the high price in a later promotion.

But, when I got my 1 litre bottle in Tenerife it was 18 euro's. The 70cl was more, though I can't remember by how much. It used to be that the bigger size was always the better deal, that is not always the case nowadays...oOI pointed this out quite loudly to my wife, as staff were in ear-shot. One of the reasons for it being expensive is that it's imported from Tennessee USA and that will always raise the price even before it gets to the local market...8)

For gods sake, does it really matter what the supermarkets are saying the retail price was.....it's £15, so either buy it if you think it's a bargain or wait till it goes down to a tenner......which it never will. Some people are never happy. Take it for what it is and stop complaining. I bet the rest of the year it's £26 in all stores. Rant over!

I think you'll find asda matched tesco when tesco dropped the price a few weeks ago hence the thread that was on here and the posts saying asda matched within a day

J.D is only 70cl

Hardly... basic standard used by all retailers - the price will at some point have been what they advertise. As long as they hold that price for 1 day then they can say it was the previous price.
This method is used by Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys etc to give "great deals" such as £1 lower than what we would expect to pay, yet it's £10 off.

J.D is only 70cl

You can get it in 1 litre bottles, got one when in Tenerife...
