Debenhams ran this last year for Black Friday and it seemed to be really popular especially as it should include ALL fragrances (including Chanel which is rare).

Due to go live around 6am but it could well be a bit earlier.

Will this be on stuff in the sale too? Like the currently half price Gucci Guilty?
Another question is does this include gift sets?
And can use the currently active 10% off code also
Thanks, I need a new squirter.
What is the 10% code?
My missus works on the perfume counter and says that the 10% offer finishes on Thursday and the Vat free is for Friday only and is on gift sets as well as normal perfume.
Some of the half price deals finish on Thursday night also
Looking to get the missus Chanel Chance EDP and it's already well priced here, so a further £10 or so off would be blinding.

You know VAT is 20%, right?

If VAT free it'll work out a bit more than 16% off the advertised price.

Doesn't seem to work on beauty though. I tried it yesterday on a £60+ order...

is EDP better than EDT ? Buying as a gift and not sure which one to get ?

EDP has a higher amount of oil than a EDT so the smell should last longer hence the price

Yup.

Best way to calculate would be to do the selling price, divided by 1.2

So, you will not get £20 saving from £100, but more like £17.70

The VAT portion of a VAT-inclusive price is one sixth of that price, i.e.16.67%.
So on a VAT-inclusive price of £100, the VAT is £16.67, not £17.70, so you'd pay £83.33 (£100 minus £16.67) after the reduction.

JL will price match followed by Boots who will also have a discount code somewhere. I did this via boots last year and got CHANCE for just £44.

Mate, you're completely right. I just f*cked my sum up.

I literally just looked at £83.33 from £100 and came to £17.70. Don't ask me why.

Its been a long day...

It's not VAT free though is it? Retailers are legally obliged to pay VAT out of the purchase price, its just a 20% off an arbitrary 'recommended retail price' that hardly anyone ever pays...
Got my eyes on ysl black opium EDT

Dior Homme Intense vs Eau for Men vs the new Sauvage? Can't decide!

Dior Homme intense is the "classier" of the two. The new Sauvage has a rather unrefined 90's vibe (reminds me of YSL Jazz a little).
Where in the ordering process does the VAT come off? I've just put some DKNY Women in my basket & it is the same price as yesterday
10% code doesn't seem to work....
Ah from the small print it seems it is not ALL fragrances, if they have already been discounted?
"Full price only. This offer replaces the 10% off all fragrances during The Big Gift Event on 26.11.15 online only. Discount of 16.67% has been applied to the pre-promotional selling price, representing the VAT that would have been payable."
There are a few minor bargains but many of these fragrances can be found much cheaper else where - for example Paul Smith Extreme 100ml £32 at Debenhams or £15 at Boots - so it's worth shopping around.

I see. I'm no expert but the intense seems more woody-wintery, probably more classy yes. To me, Eau for men seems more citrus fresh and for everyday wear. Also Intense is EDP vs EDT.
Don't forget 4% quidco and £5 click and collect voucher.
Isn't still more expensive than getting them down from USA paying both shipping cost and VAT ? (fragrance.net)
