i know this isn't really the season but this is by far best price for this product afaik. i've been umming and ahhing all evening over this vs several others (Terra Nova Laser Comp, Big Agnes, Snugpack Ionosphere and Nordisk Telemark particularly) but the price, size and weight of this clinched it. hopefully it's good..

i couldn't find any vouchers or free delivery.

i baught some Vango Bravo for £38 when it was on sale. looks pretty much the same. Do they differ much?

well, this is a ~1kg tent that can take 2 people (at a push). when it first came out in ~2010 there wasn't much else that could compete with that, certainly nothing else fully waterproof. now there's a few like the Telemark but they're all at least £300 afaik. unless anyone knows better, tents aren't really my area!

the Vango Bravo 200 i think weights 3.3kg? so not in same category! the Banshee 200 i looked at and weights 2.35kg, still far too heavy for me. there are several 1.5kg tents that might be slightly cheaper than this (not much). or there's that lovely telemark (~800g!) i.e saving ~250g for £300 but i had to draw line somewhere..

added weight to title to point out why this is a "bargain" over £200

Can't see any water proof specs on the site. Pretty important for quality tents used in adverse conditions. Also 90 cm wide for 2 people! though the weight is impressive

it's supposed to be "Both sides siliconized and silicone seam sealed" 20D Ripstop 3000mm head, which is considerably stronger than some ultralights that are 10-15D. better sealing than the Terra Nova Laser Comp, which its based on (lowest price i could see £250 and smaller)

main problem with these tunnel tents is you can't tension them properly, they will flap about. this one also doesn't have much clearance between inner and fly. like i said, money no object i'd probably take the Telemark, but it's nearly £100 more..

this tent is normally £300, RRP £400 btw.

if you need more space they make a 2-3P for +300g, but this is a "palatial" 1 man tent..

That is a very good find OP. Only a couple of hundred grams more than my Jupiter bivi but with more space. 800g less than my tent.

I'll stick with the Jupiter. Smaller footprint for fell tops and takes next to no time to pitch in the dark.

I MUST RESIST ..... Arrrrghhhhh
just got mine it really is insanely small and light, delivery guy was like "that's a tent?!". the titanium pegs are very cool, class german product.

umm no offence but that first comment ("my tent looks the same and cost £30") is kind of exactly what's wrong with HUKD so often! i have some other camping deals not sure if i can be bothered to post, as long as someone is helped. cheers guy above.

Explain the primary differences.

I don't think it's a HUKD problem at all; I think it's a valid question the same raised on "What's the difference between these vodkas or what's the difference between his Audi and this VW.."

What the poster is actually saying is...

"Are you really getting £270 MORE value than me?"

Apart from the brand and some confirmation bias the truth is probably not. It is extremely unlikely this tent will outperform the Coleman Cobra 2 which is 1/4 of the price or a Vango.

And I write this as someone who bought an MSR Hubba.

I paid extra for some features but the Hubba is certainly not worth 6 times more than a Cobra.
that coleman is a good deal. (2kg for £65)
if you need a light tent, this is still by far best deal i can find.
yeah i was being touchy. it's £160 more or £140 more than that Coleman.

sold out.
