I have been looking for a good deal on a good cordless vacuum cleaner for a while now and after reading quite a bit, decided to go for Vax Blade 2 Max, but at £250 (the standard selling price until yesterday) I thought it was a bit too much for me, so I kept checking and waiting and it finally paid off as the price dropped (for the first time in ages!) to under £200. If you buy directly from VAX you also get the free tool kit with some useful attachments.
Here is some basic info:

Weight - 3.1kg
Filters - Rinseable
Guarantee - 3 year guarantee
Battery Guarantee - 1 year guarantee
Tools Included with device - Crevice Tool, Dusting Brush, Tool Caddy & Wall Mount
Free toolkit consists of flexible crevice tool, tough dirt tool, dusting brush, textile tool, stretch hose and storage bag

Free delivery and there is also an interest free option to pay in 4 instalments if you prefer that.

I have a Dyson V8 (previous to that a V6) and a Vax blade 2 Max, honestly I prefer the Vax blade 2 Max, in my opinion much more power. I actually get a better clean from the Vax than the Dyson, easy comparison is to check how full the bins get and the Vax wins all the time hands down.
At £199 with a free tool kit is a bargain in my opinion

Interesting, I've been weighing up the V6 vs the Vax Blade cleaners (admittedly not the Blade 2 Max) and had been put off Vax by reports of problems with build quality, breakdowns and Vax not honouring warranties. Perhaps I need to think again.

Mate has had two Dyson hand holds and both packed up after around 2 years service and I had to order them a couple of batteries and one charger went too. They are on a Vax now and say performance wise it is just as good and costs half what the Dyson's did. I have had a Vax cordless 'Lift' upright for nearly 4 years too without any problems. With Dyson you are just paying for the name. I have just ordered a Vax Blade 2 32v (damaged box off Vax eBay shop) so I will be able to give a first hand account of them soon. Vax sent me the Warranty registration by email yesterday (dated from next Sunday) and it's due for delivery any minute.

I know there's a shark hype at the moment but there's a good reason for it. In my personal opinion the best hoover for price and quality, I've chucked away my dyson and vax hoovers, both which constantly broke down and had to have a engineer come around to fix multiple issues.

Vax Blade 2 32v is way better then the Vax cordless Upright (think this is like 20V or something) as the suction is way better.
I had the Vax U85-ACLG-B good hover but the suction was crap if not connected to the base unit. (when this failed at year 5 they send me out a Vax Blade 2 max)
just remember to keep the filter clean on it.

It doesn't appear to work on the Vax Blade 2 Max. You appear to have a different model at that price in your basket, no?

edit: it works on the Vax Blade 32v, and not the 40v.

Can't wait to test it. Yeah my upright is 20V and been pleased with that .Again you need to clean the filter regularly but not a problem if it keeps it working a full pelt. Thanks for info.

This. All day long.
Got the Vax Blade 2 Max went on the reports on Which and am happy with it .Hot deal
Given mi new 32v Blade a good run all around the house , the pet hair (rubberised teeth ) tool is right good at getting the fluff up down the edges of the carpets. Really impressed with it, got in all the nooks and crannies that I don't normally bother with ...lol Wife's happy too as I've been through the house testing it. Had to empty the bin twice and the charge lasted about 30 minutes using continuously on boost mode with the brush going 50% of the time. The 40v one on this offer should be even better

I think that is for the Vax Blade 2, not the Blade 2 Max (just looking at the price). It would have been nice to find a voucher that works, I couldn't yesterday but there may be new ones out there...

Trust me I’ve had Dysons
And this Vax blade 2 is good, just so your aware I’m making comparisons on the 40v not the 32v
I have the blade 2 40v
And I can honestly say it’s on par with the V8
Obviously the build quality on the Dyson is better where the Vax is ‘ruff around the edges’
But for the performance and price
It’s got to be the Vax blade 2 Vax (40v)
How would this compare to a somewhat decrepid Dyson v6?

We have hard floor downstairs and carpet upstairs.

I've got both and the V6 is much more powerful.

Sorry don’t have a V6 however I have the V8 and I prefer the Vax blade 2 Max and at this price it’s a steal
Buying a cordless vacuum has to be one of the most stressful decisions ever. Have a Vax at the moment and it just doesn't pick up after a while.

Shark or Dyson? And what model for a 3 bedroom mainly carpet house?
Cold, I got a V7 for less money a few days back

Vax blade 2 max (40v)

Vax blade 2 max (40v)

This looks like it suffers from the same problems my current one does (which is only a year old). Struggles with suction over time and the pick up floorhead is near impossible to keep clear. I don't even have any pets so it shouldn't be as bad as this. Reviews confirm it.

Its an absolute minefield
